Best way to do homework is to get out there, get involved with the dogs you're seeking and put in the effort n work..not making threads on an online forum.

Peon's advice is good. It's direct but that's what makes it good in this case.

You'll get all kinds of answers here. However, people either live by hearsay (code for bullshit) or they've become "fans" of one thing or another and their input is not objective nor is it often based on actually seeing enough of this or that type of dog to really be able to tell you with any authority. Some have, yes, but it would be hard for you to weed them out, Tx. Read my last signature quote. It's well meaning. Good luck in your considerations for dogs.

Every line has its good and bad. It's usually the individuals that's used that will differ from yard to yard and line to line. But each strain does have some traits or habits that might differ from another strain. Some might fit your character or goals etc., a little better than others. And that is where some experience comes in. The breeder u choose to get the family u choose is as or more important also. As far as some habits or traits about the 2 families ur asking about, imo Boudreaux dogs need more experience in several areas compared to some of the other families and it is easy to be fooled by what you think might be a good one and there typical fast pace makes them sometimes harder to shape accordingly. The Boyles strains are usually more "what you see is what u get" kinda dogs with more of a pace and method about them on average. I myself loved them both but had more experience with the Boudreaux line. Tricky. Jmo.

What strain of Boudreaux dogs are you talking about and what strain of Boyles dogs are you talking about? Sometimes folks get them confused, not every Bolio Boomerang mixture is a Boyles dog. Just as not every dog that has Maverick in the back is a Boudreaux dog. Plenty others around that have built their own families amongst these dogs. You first have to know what you want in order to get where you going.

i'm still learning about boyles traits. but i know alot about most maverick stuff. im learing that it depends on the dog and his trait more then the bloodline in a whole. thanks for advice.

Mr. Boudreaux will be in Georgetown, Texas at the Heart of Texas APBT Club show March 7 & 8, 2015. Come meet for the first time or see the man again while he is still around and support the breed. Bring things to be autographed by him. Check the Southwest show section on this forum for more details.

Don't think you can go wrong with that, assuming it's from good dogs off both lines... I've got some Andy Capp stuff and some Salesman/Earl jr stuff that I will be breeding one day. Both can stand on there own IMO but crossing it can bring great results
