It is funny at one time I thought this was the ugliest color on a dog ever. Now I think a brown brindle is the best looking dog going. Weird.

This is a Brandy Girl dog.

Another funny thing is that this dog was a Jeep-Red Boy dog. Even when the Red Boy popularity ballooned they were still Jeep-Red Boy dogs.

At the same time the Jocko-Red Boy dogs turned to Red Boy-Jocko dogs.

Maybe it was that Jeep went on to be the prolific producer and puppies are what dictates a dogs legacy. The Jocko dog not so much in comparison.

I don't think Montana could finish like his brother (Boon!) Not stating fact since I never saw Montana, but it's what I always thought.. Montana's first show was into a dog called Billy (Neilson x Mayfield) that my mate owned.. Billy lost game and all my mate talked about after was Montana's pace and ability, even later when we plotted the downfall of every Montana dog in the country, we believed if you could stay with them Montana dogs past 30mins, then they'd probably stop on their own anyway, not saying we were right, but that's what we thought.. Boon on other hand never showed much, he was like one of them alligator snapping turtles waiting on the bottom for something to pass his mouth, then boom, DOA! Peaches was super producer mate, CH. Boon and Devil Deacon half brothers, I totally understand Montana thing, but why no Boon pups?

Yeah mate! We thought that too, but it's taking the piss asking a dog to keep going when he's getting shook all over like an empty track suit and your saying "just hold on son" I think he might quit any minute now haha! Quick way to find out how game your dogs were though! Scar Kennels Lady lost against a Montana daughter (forget which) and Scratched when loads wouldn't.. RB's Sammy another one that lost double game against a Montana bred gyp.. Below female was Montana x Sammy, bred and owned by my old friend AH (rip)

Montana’s first was his loss to Badger, I see him as a youngster and didn’t think he was a 42lb dog. I never see him go but a friend did and said he’d finish. Was told Boon was bred, wheather or not they got pups from him I don’t know. May have just been wishful thinking on my friends part. There can’t have been many gyps that have produced 3 ROM’s like Peaches did and she was only 1 win away from being an ROM herself.

I only know Montana beat my friends Billy dog (neilson x Mayfield) and lost against GR. CH. Badger, don't know the others.. No doubt Badger was a good dog, Billy was no slouch either, I liked him, Montana must have been decent to have beaten him!

    "Baileys Bingo (1xw) R.O.M."

Katie Marlowe, made a breeding that made an impact in today's dogs. The \par litter I am talking about was when she bred her Fanny dog (double bred \par Granddaughter of Bass Tramp RedBoy) back to RedBoy. This breeding was very similar to the famous Chavis' Yellow John dog. From this breeding, came Bingo, Amber, and a few others. As a pup, Bingo was raised and campaigned by Katie Marlowe at the age of two. His first and only match was during the summer of '85 against a highly regarded dog going for his grand championship. After 1:27 minutes, Bingo defeated the four-time winner in great fashion. Shortly after he was matched, Katie sold him to Steel Fire Kennels. Three years later, in the summer of 1988, the SDJ had an advertisement posted by Steel Fire Kennels to sell Bingo. At the time, I kept a yard of tight Yellow John bred dogs. After talking to Fletcher Chavis, who was my main influence in the RedBoy dogs, I became very interested in a dog that I thought would make a big impact to my yard. Bingo would bring the RedBoy blood up close. Once I got Bingo in my yard, I wanted to personally see if he was as good as they say. He was rolled several times, in which he proved to me that he was going to be used as my primary stud dog.

Bingo was bred to approximately 26 different gyps during the time I had him. Twenty of those gyps were my own. Although he was bred to a lot of great females, some of the ones that come to mind are Marlowe's Peaches (Eslinger), Bailey's Lacy, Bailey's Paycheck (pure Yellow John), Richardson's Cream, El Vira (2XW), and Bailey's Cherry. When he was bred to Peaches, the litter of pups consisted of WCC's Deacon ROM, Crenshaw's Hunter Red ROM, GR CH Radar, Charlie's Justice (2XW), and Red Girl (1XW and 1XL dead game). With Lacy's breeding came Ch Bubba, Rangel's Durango, Ginger, and Spooty. The last litter, I would like to mention was Bingo's breeding to Richardson's Cream. This litter consisted of two females that automatically come to mind. The two females were Blitz and Twister (dam of Pitstop's Red ROM). Other dogs that I would like to mention produced by Bingo were Bailey's Crypt (AKA Bo), Bailey's Cadillac, Bailey's (O. Stevens') Red Ape, Garner's Hap, and Ch Monkey Man. With those dogs in mind, Bingo has produced at least two Champions and 1 Gr. Ch.

The last dog I would like to mention in details is Bailey's Crypt. In 1998, I reacquired Crypt back from a long time friend. At the time, he was 6 years old. Crypt was the result of breeding Bailey's Cherry to Bingo. Crypt, unlike his father, produced dogs with a very hard bite. At the same time he also produces game dogs with great wind (RedBoy traits). Most of the dogs Crypt has produced are now just becoming of age. So far, he has shown me that he will produce as good, if not better than his father (Bingo), since he is producing hard bitters that are game and long winded. To this date, he has currently produced 6 one-time winners and 1 two-time winner.

As always it’s what your told, never what you’ve seen & know. Who said he didn’t stay with em? D always kept and utilised other lines, even during the time when the Montana dogs were earning their rep. Montana was never bred enough, which makes it hard for anyone to establish a line from him. So it petered out, not that it was ever a pure line. Considering he carried on using Montana decedents with more success than other lines, up until his holiday, should tell you just how mistaken you are.

Meant to mention earlier @david63.. I love to hear stories like that, Remember reading somewhere about the shotgun booby trap and thinking that's pure Rambo stuff! Was Tant in the military?

I really don't know if Mr. Tant was in the military or not. The booby trap shotgun was to keep people off of his land and keep people from stealing his dogs. I cannot blame Tant for that.

South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster was pushing for a 30 years senate for David Tant and only served 6 years out of 30 years. McMaster was the same Attorney General that gave us a problem back in 2004. McMaster's now the Governor of South Carolina.
