  5. Please don't get the pup those plastic sqweeky toys or anything that could be tore open you know the ones, I hope, get the pup something hard or one of those ropes, as far as feeding raw is the best (even tho I feed kibble for the most part) there is plenty of info in this board do a search and you will get most of your ? answered....

  6. haha yea no he aint getting nothing like that, a regular tennis ball, a hide toy and one of those rope toys, is what he gonna get

yea been reading about the barf diet may introduce him to small amounts of raw food now to do a switch in the future but trying to find the best kind of dry and canned food for now

As far as dry dog food it all depends on how much money you want to spend. the best bang for your buck will be Diamond Naturals which is what I feed. But there are better foods for more money. Taste of the wild, blue buffalo etc. Natural bones/smoked bones are good but too much can give them the squirts. Make sure you set paramaters with the pup, it might be cute now but when it is a grown ass dog, like sleeping in the bed with you or on the couch might not be acceptable any more. Get it used to a crate while it is small even if you never intend on crating it, you may need to in the future, it is easier teaching a pup. there is plenty of info on this site to answer all your questions then some. He is a cute pup, good luck with him.

he is a good lookin lil pup.id say get a kong med size. they are great toys, put treats in em and they last a long time. and like mcs said you cant go wrong with diamond and dont be afraid to put his lil butt in the crate especially as a pup, he will whine n cry try covering it up with a towel, but dont give in, he will test you every day on the limits you set but make sure you let him know who is the boss.good luck and have fun.

  10. so far have bought

any recommendations on leashes? or collars?

right now any collar and leash will work, but once the pup gets stronger you will need a buckle collar. The plastic snaped collars will not hold up. Nylon 2 or 3 ply or leather will work well. Nylon or leather leash as well. I use a brand called hamilton collars, they make 1" to 2" widths and a nice double ply leash or Stillwater and Obrien kennel supply sell similar ones. I would also read up on walking the dog, hand walking etc. It makes a difference how you train them. If you want a well behaved leash dog, train the pup not to pull. If you wanna hand walk the dog then let him pull. I have a 1" collar on my dog all the time and when I walk her I put a 2" on with the leash and lean back. If your dog is out on a chain then they should wear a 2" all the time.
