    Hello,

This is not my first time around the block with this breed but my prior bull breed dogs were not anywhere close to as dog aggressive as my 18 month un neutered swiper.

I am wondering how I can work with him to chill out when he sees other 4 legged animals. At least get him to a point where he will sit stay on the car seat or on his leash without looking like a rabid dog that hasn't eaten in a month.

    Thanks for any advice.

There are too many fools here in the city that let their dogs off leash.

There's a small group of knowledgeable pitbull owners in my city that all walk together on the weekend. This could be a good solution as they all would understand that the DA is not personal and that they all will control their dogs and have good strong leash/hardware and breaksticks in back pocket as well.

    Thoughts?

Never understood why people get breeds that are notoriously dog aggressive then want help in curbing the behavior. If DA was an issue then why did you get a bull breed to begin with?

Hate to disappoint you with this news flash but there will be many more disappointing moments in your life that you will not understand.

If I compare my da dog problem to the person who takes their dog to a dog park and wants it to be more aggressive and classifies it as a problem worth posting about. Its like comparing your post to a helpful post.

I just don't want my dog behaving like a 45 pound nutsack when out in public. It not like I chain him to a truck axle and leave him in the yard chained up all day.

it is just how some of them are. 18mth is still quite young and he may be asserting himself. does he hate all dogs, ? that group of owners you mentioned earlier might be worth a try.
i could write a short book on some of the shit i have been through with rhese dogs . lmao

Was just pointing out how retarded you sound. Look guys I got this dog that is notorious for being DA, How do i stop it? The right anwser would be for you to have got a more suitable breed for your lifestyle. I dont try to understand the stupidity of others. ;)
Just like I didnt on the other thread your refering to.

Take him out for a good run and tire him out. Not saying it will work but he should mellow out a bit. As much as I don't mind it I went camping with a couple friends for a few days and they have dogs also and that worked for the most part.

Im not tring to be a dick, Its like if I came on here and said hey guys, i got this german short haired pointer and every time he sees a bird he freezes up and points, how do i get him to stop doing it? ....

I read at least 5 threads just like this one damn near everyday. This is my second one today and I have only been up for an hour and a half. Lmao going to be one of those days I suppose.
Da is just something you have to learn to deal with. You can try to redirect the dog but more times than not you are not going to untrain what it's instincts are telling it to do.

Good luck with that though, sincerly.
