F.D. - I'm pretty sure I seen one for sale for a few dollars cheaper than this but Mona sells breeding stands.

Yup, don't like the plier kind myself. Those ones that alert you are junk, waste of money. They sent her shop a pair too try, she sent them back the next day lol.

She has used Kwik Stop for as long as i can remember. If i'm not mistaken, flour will work in a pinch if it won't stop bleeding.

My bitch cracked her nail at around 10 months, it cracked horizontally and split some vertically. We just dealt with it here.. Cut it up in the quick way above the split, wrapped it it for 2 days, let it air out over night and it healed just fine.

F.D. I knew I had seen somebody selling breeding stands for about $90 shipped and I did a little digging and got in touch with the fella. The stand is $50 and he said with both collars it is $70. He quoted shipping at $40. That sounds like a good deal to me. If you want him info, pm me and I'll send it to you.

I never gave nail clipping that much thought as most (WORKING) bulldogs seem to file there nails on there own and or from being worked on a hard surface at least once or twice a week.....Those that didnt file there own nails , I used a nail clipper and if I cut the quick the "DIRT", (old school style) was used as a coagulant to stop the bleeding. LOL....Or you could go high tech with Chitosan as a coagulant.

Yea I probably wouldn't worry too much, especially since I do a lot of walking on asphalt, but I have been thinking about getting a slat mill eventually and I would like to be able to keep nails reasonably short without a struggle or blood drops all over the floor. Dirt as anticoagulant actually makes sense, with a possible danger of infection. I did discover that Simple Green works well to dissolve blood. There were spots all over the floor (some dried) and I went around and sprayed them with Simple Green, and they wiped right up.

I use the clippers like that FD showed a pic of.They have a guide on the back so its just about impossible to cut into the quick, unless you take 2 swipes off then you may get into it.Regular baking flour will clot it up enough to stop the bleeding..I will take off a little at the time, don't try and take it all off at once. They should never reach this point , keep your dogs nail trimmed , its only a hassle until they get use too it.

I've watched Joanie Winchester trim nails with just a regular pair of human nail clippers ..lol takes her about 10 seconds with her husband holding the dog.

Yeah, if you start on em young it's usually easier.. I start checking them over from ears too toes at a young age. haven't had one yet that is bad for maintenance or grooming.

Mine works the same as FD's. The only difference is mine has a guide to sit the nail to rest on while cutting nail.
