Did I get Jipped?

I recently ordered a dewormer from an online supply store. The dewormer that I ordered was Pyran 50. They sent me Vedco Equi-Phar ProTal. Should I send it back or is it the same thing? I called and they said that it was the same, but I know that pyran 50 is a human dewormer commonly used for puppies and dogs, but this is a horse dewormer. I know that many people use horse dewormer for their dogs, but I am just very cautious. Also, they told me to give 1cc per 4 pounds, does that sound right? I would appreciate any help.

The correct dosage of Pyran 50/Strongid (50mg/ml) is 1cc per 20 lbs! Being it's pretty much a non-toxic drug you can give 2cc per 20lbs if wanting to be absolutely sure to rid the dog/s of worms.

 

Yes this is right, but you have to take into account what they spit up, and as my vet says, "When it comes to worming,too much, is better than, too little".

Not sure where they came up with that dosage? Does the wormer you have have 5 mg or 50 mg per 1cc of pyrantel pamoate?

make sure you dont give to much or you will have one sick dog.mine started hallusinating and thought i was a female dog and started humping my leg and throwing up all over me at the same time!it was grusome!

 

ROFLLMAO. I don't think dewormer has hallucinagenic properties. But yeah, that is pretty gruesome, humping your leg and throwing up at the same time.

 

I still just need to know what the correct dosage is. Is .5cc to a 4lb dog too much? Help me Please and Fast!

 

Your good, 1/2 cc is okay. 1cc per 20 lbs would make the correct dosage for your pup 1/4 cc.
