what winners came off of cinnamon then ?
i remember dann was always bulling some dog or another up as the next best thing, i never heard a bad word about cinnamon but her record is no better than loads of dogs and certainly their have been reid dogs just as highly rated. ch max was open to anything i believe within a few pounds, he produced some good dogs when they got into competant hands, i am willing to bet plenty of dogmen would have taken a yard full of dogs like him (whether they will admit it or not)

 

well if u never seen her , and u dont know anyone who seen her go , then maybe were wasting time arguing about it.As for max , great seems that your a bigger fan than you let on , but belive this , cinnamon was the best bitch and if you had to breed a family ARound m,ax or cinnamon , then im sorry but cinnamon wins hands down , the gemnes are to strong to deny it.

 

as curstoppers owner said to me ...a dog makes the pedigree not the paper behind him....i'd go for max to cinnamon anyday because as stated the mayfield pure stuff never did that well over here .

 

so what family did she produce, as far as i know nothing much came down off her.
the best bitch ? mighty big statement, better than what exactly ? tornado ? queen of hearts ? lassie ?

If you go for max ,then you would be going for one dog and not be looking to breed a family from him, as anyone who understands bloodstock

would take cinnamon in a heartbeat over max , but thats ok , breeding takes some men amny many years to understand ,and some never get it.

 

She beat all that was put infront of her ,in the uk .

Sorry but you dont yet understand the concept of breeding ,and the importance of the pure family and other pure familys that are out there today.
And your post shows the level of understanding you have ,but if you want to learn more then open your mind and look.

I really don't know very much about breeding families and I can't even remember the name of the Mayfield dog that CH.Yogi destroyed in his second show (Ripper maybe?) or the name of the Neilson/Mayfield dog that Redeye's Scar 2xw defeated in 54mins in England?

Personally I always had a liking for Skipper dogs, actually I was a huge fan of Kingfish, it just so happened that Skipper was the closest I could get to him... If you look at a photo of Kingfish he looks identical to many of the dogs Skipper produced.. Look at GR.CH.Stubblefields Buddy (Kingfish son,) he was a clone of dogs we might consider to resemble a Skipper bred dog in appearance...

In the USA Hick's Tarka (Skipper's sister) produced Hick's CH.Bullit who also produced good dogs where it mattered [] and many of those were clones (even when crossed) of CH.Bullit and also the Skipper bred dogs in the UK during the 80's...

The Turtlebuster dogs (Kingfish) earned a great reputation where it mattered [] so did the Skipper dogs here in the UK earn their reputations where it mattered []

It's my opinion that you need to look a little further back than Reid's Skipper to truly appreciate the quality of CH.Scotsman's Max and the dogs he produced... I really don't know much about family's of dogs... BUT I KNOW WHAT MATTERS MORE THAN PAPER []

 

they were good wining dogs , maybe game maybe not , but does there pedigree show true family breeding , u misunderstand my piont , and this is why there are breeders and other who think they are breeders.

 

Never been really interested in bits of paper myself, would rather breed a good worker to another worker and take the risk on getting something decent rather than studying bits of paper. I have nothin against reid he was in the right place at the right time and filled a market selling dogs, dont agree with selling to just anyone but that was his choice. If he hadnt done it someone else would of i think m dann was a close second to reid in selling dogs to just about anyone.No one can ignore there was very good reid dogs that imo would of gone toe to toe against anything in any country.

I remember asking you gar in a earlier post in another topic about cinnamons record you dont have it do you as over all these years i couldnt get a true answer from all the people i have asked.

 

you will have to talk to M DANN to get the full details on cinnamon , but are u even doubting that she won all her matches and rolls , if i remmember she was also a winner in the usa before dann got her .

 

dann was no different to reid i think it would be close at the end of the day who bred the most lol . Dann was the west country's answer to del boy trotter.

 

No not doubting anything, but you seem to rate her very highly so i thought you may know. I remember the likes of other highly rated dogs having very suspect records( ch neillson,grch bill) but imo some records will never be truely known, like the saying go's "YOU HAD TO BE THEIR".

 

I know of two matches here she had , one my old partner saw and another a well respected dogman saw, i cant remember who she went into but both said she was the real deal. I think it was one of don's magazine he wrote she had won sixteen or seventeen matches over here,which of course was a fabrication of the truth She was also rolled a few times,her career was ended because of an inexperienced yard hand. :rolleyes::rolleyes:
