    Hey Everyone,
My name is Kaitlyn and I'm new to this site. I have a 1 year old female American Bull dog/Pit Bull/ Dalmatian Mix. She has always been very shy and timid. Her confidence level is low. But I have been working with her for about three months now. She is improving drastically with meeting people. She no longer shy's away and ducks. People can actually pet her now. (still needs some improving but she's come a long way!) The only thing I am seeming to have issues with is her fear aggression towards other dogs. Not all dogs but most.

Here's some background information: I've had Benelli all of her life. She was never beaten, abused, or anything to that matter. She does live with her parents. Her mother is an American Bull Dog/ Pit mix and her father is a Dalmatian/ pit mix. She has always been on the more timid side but she was well socialized as a puppy and was never aggressive until she turned one in January. I did seek help from a couple different trainers and they all said she has "fear aggression."

Like i said before, I have been working with her since I noticed the aggression. She has improved but I would like anyone's opinion on tips or tricks to help the progress a little more. I'm open to an opinions so feel free to state it. We have been work with another dog that she gets a long with really well and he's helped a lot. I am adding another dog to the mix soon. A dog she is familiar with but has not seen in quit awhile. She is the most aggressive while on a leash but We are at a point where she may bark at the other dog but there is no more growling or lunging. She's improving and I am proud of her but i do need some help on what to do next. Has anyone else had this issue? How do I know she is capable of being introduced to a strange dog? how would i introduce them? etc. Thanks! I attached some pictures so everyone can see her too! Hope it worked

I had this problem a couple of times over the years,,they do be more confident on the lead cause they know your on the other end....i think you will notice she will be agressive when you bring the new dog to her home...but different when on neutral ground ie;she will play,,these type seem to be one person dogs..just keep on doing what is working for you and don't let up..........she may come round ...good luck.......

Just stick to what you doing this won't happen over night. You see the dog getting tense or uncomfortable, turn around or go across the street. You can try following other dogs from a distance so they can get comfortable etc.

This dog should be culled. It is not right to allow any unsuspecting human near her.

  6. Pimp, this dog should not be culled for being dog aggressive. The op did not say she is people aggressive! Being dog agg is pretty normal in these breeds, and some can be worked with it to be able to control. It has NOTHING to do with being aggressive to humans.

Only stay with everything you repeating this is not going to come about magically. You observe your dog acquiring tighten or perhaps uncomfortable, change or perhaps get down the street. You can attempt pursuing other pets from a length so they can acquire comfortable and so on.
