Mr. Willie Wills was the owner of Wills' Diamond Dick, who won in 1918 in Mexico..
There is a picture of Mr. Wills in Lou Colby's book, handling a dog in a comformation show that took place in LongBeach, Ca. in 1939..

you know 3 months ago i printed on my sweater the picture of alcedo's black poison orca 6xw and picture of gr ch queen of heart.

and i went to the AFL grand finals with it... apbt pride in down under lol

than later on i thrw it away... brings too ,much unwnted attention... apbt's are banned in australia, and u never know, maybe some peta guy ,my see me with it and follow me all the way to my house and take my dogs lol.. so i said naaah.. dont wanna bring too much attention to myself.

I thought this post was about african american fanciers from the early days?.People are posting guys from not that long ago, like there arent and havent been any black people (men & women) in the dog game during the last 50 yrs..lol..
If thats the case, what about the guy that had Andy Capp, or the breeder of Panthol,Hellcat, etc..What about the the guy with BlackPaz Jr, or the guy who bought Gabe?.

 

Yeah I know what you mean,But it is cool to me just know of some of these current ones. But if anyone knows of any of the real old school place some names ands dogs out there i'm real curious myself. I've always wondered this myself. I know one not so old school but is some what influential (Uter)

Very good!!!! not exactly accurate but true in essence... Dibo was bred by a black man named W. Smith who was Ed Ritcheson's yard hand at that time. Ritcheson didn't like the Bambi bitch cuz she was cold but Smith liked her and bred her to Rithesons stud dog Bouncer. When Ed found out he hit the roof and sent Smith packing. Smith grabbed up the pup that would be Dibo and headed over to Heinzl's place for some help. Heinzl fixed things between Smith and Ritcheson, Smith went back to Ritcheson's yard and the pup that would be Dibo was left with Heinzl and later the Bambi bitch was also given to Heinzl since Ed didn't want any part of a cold dog.
So the most influential dog in the history of the breed was bred by a black man to a bitch that would have been discarded and later that same bitch was bred to produce Arizona Pete, Minnie and Adolf. She was later bred to a fighting Staff and produced Gr Ch White Rock, Ch Frito and Ch Cry Baby,, the dam to Eli

 

It has been said that Earl Tudor favored a lot of dogs that came off of Frank G. Henry's yard. Frank G. Henry was a blackman but I don't Earl Tudor favored his dogs because Henry was a blackman; it was because had the type of dogs Earl Tudor likes to use.
