I guess we all have rare dogs and didn't even know it,lol.

 

the sad part is thats true if things keep going the way they are apbt will become a rare breed :confused:

The entropian surgery is from the bulldog side. Dogs like that are rare, you better act quick to pick her up! lol

 

this is the rare bit-

I get confusion all the time. It usually goes like this.

Them: Is that a boxer?
Me: No he is an APBT.
Them: Blank stare
(Rocky is brindle so apparantly that makes him a boxer.)

Them: What is he.
Me: He is an APBT.
Them: How old is he.
Me: He is 15 months
Them: Isn't he kinda small.
Me: Nope and I walk away

He is 56 pounds right now. He may gain a few more pounds as he fills out over the next year but apparently right now he is to small to be an APBT :rolleyes:

 

it's amazing how little factual information the general public has concerning our dogs. Guess we can thank media sensationalism in part for that. I get the stuff all the time, people asking about the "locking jaws" telling me they had a dog or knew someone that did that was half American pit and half red nose, all kinds of stuff. Had a guy once trying to tell me my dogs weren't pit bulls because their tails aren't docked....I told him he was thinking of a different breed, but he was apparently the expert in his mind, and "back in the early 80's when everybody had a pit bull their tails were always docked, made them better fighters". I've heard it all, as I'm sure most of you have. What strikes me about this ad, is that the poster refers to the dog as a "pocket pit". There was a member here long ago that said she wanted to start breeding them smaller, since the trend seems to be be breeding for large size...and she said she would call them pocket pits. She was appropriately taken to task over that idea and told breeding for size is never good, whether it be larger or smaller. But I can't help but wonder if this is the same person posting this ad, or if her idea and name she came up with somehow caught on somewhere. Scary....

 

Well, I missed out on seeing this rare breed. It has been flagged for removal...

 

Yeah,you hear all kinds of garbarge from people concerning these dogs.I had a guy ask me about one of my dogs once and he thought how small a female I had was,she's 50 pounds.I thought that was large enough for a female,but he was telling me"them Razors Edge dogs are like 100 pounds" I've had people ask about if I was afraid to have them because of my kids,wonder why I haven't docked their tails and the most surprising thing is when people have the gall to just ask straight out if I fight them.I'm just happy now when no one even says anything and that way I don't have to answer stupid questions.

its obviously NOT a person selling pups. alot of rescue folks have taken to listing on craiglist just to get their dogs more exposure-and it seems like this might be the case
