Good Breeder

Discussion in 'Breeder Discussion' started by pitbullmomma28, Nov 20, 2009.

  1. Hey Everyone…I am a BIG Pittie Lover, but recently had to return my Pit to the breeder do to some issues which I would rather not discuss as the hurt is still near. I have been looking for a Pittie, and I love the way the gamebred dogs look. I am not a big Gaff or Am Bully person, I don’t like those type of Pitties. I love the thin, muscular type which I have seem here and want to know if anyone knows a responsible breeders of quality Pitties. A breeder who health tests and shows (conformation and/or weight pulling) Please let me know!

    Christina
P.S. I love every minute I spend on this forum. You guys are great!

I would be very surprised if anyone will give you a answer without knowing why you had to return your other dog back to the breeder.

At least I know I wouldn't until I knew the background, And I would also want to know your background with the dogs and see how much you know. Game dogs are not to be taken lightly as they come with many different things that you have to know how to handle, They are not for just any and everyone.

I doubt anyone will give you an answer unless you tell why you gave back your last dog. If it was because you simply couldn't control it when it hit six months or it was dog aggressive, I personally don't think that is a good reason to return a dog. I wouldnt. Mabie an APBT isn't a good breed for you. What kind of APBT was it? (Kind as in bloodline). What was it bred for? What was wrong with it, that you had to return it. Also, I wouldn't think your the right person for a game bred APBT. No offence to you but you don't seem very knowledgeable and seem soft towards dogs and it looks like a mutt would walk all over you, so a game bred APBT would have no problem. Game bred APBTs aren't babies or dress up dolls. They are a work and a commitment.

I think we should hear from Pitbullmamma28 before folks jump to conclusions. If she doesn't respond back, than don't waste your time. It's been what 3 days now.

It's unfortunate you were not able deal with the issues brought forth by your previous dog. I would suggest you find a mentor and do a bit of research via attending shows and contacting those that have a bloodline that you're interested in.

You won't find a whole ton of "gamebred" lines that health test, but there are a few out there. This is a whole different ballgame then the more UKC style dog that you had prior. It will take a lot of patience and looking hard, but there are breeders out there who fall into the classifications you're looking for.

Good luck and happy breeder hunting.

You won't find anyone with dogs worth their salt by browsing an online (Public) forum.

I would take a step back and consider just what you seek in a dog, and why. Then find someone who produces quality dogs and take a lesson or two from them.

Performance-bred animals are no joke; they are more than lithe forms and lean muscle. You will be hard-pressed to find folks with serious animals who are following today's "politically correct" code of ethics when it coming to breeding dogs. They are following a much more thorough and time-tested code, and it is evident through the caliber of dogs they produce.
