how good was red kennels gr ch badger?

 

Must have been a handy dog, sure he died after a raid...

Would be appreciated if we put pics to the names of these dogs of old.

 

No he was a 2xw 1xl Limeys owned the dog, he was sent over to the US with Spike. He quit in his 3rd in 11 min. Limeys/Mr Bulldog were told but couldn't believe it and wanted him back.

IMO Junkyard Boys GR.CH.Bill was the greatest dog of the British Isles, no other dog I'm aware of won over 2 x champions and three dogs that were going for titles (one of them twice) if any UK board member knows one that achieved better I'd like to know? That's my opinion based on performance!

When it came to performance 'and production' then greatest in British Isles was CH. Scotsman's Max since 1/ he was champion himself, 2/ he defeated another champion. 3/ he produced 2 champions and a two time winner (all unbeaten) who defeated other champions, again if any UK board member knows one that achieved and produced better, then I'd like to know?

 

I still think it’s an impossible question to answer. In terms of production I’d probably now have to say Harry ROM, hard to argue against 4 Ch’s in 2 breedings, maybe his 3rd litter all blacks mentioned will bring his %’s down.
On performance, on record Bill has it, but there have been good/great dogs who’s performances have been long forgotten in the mists of time. How about Nato or Lady both 1xers who both beat ch’s considered the best of their time, or Ch Deadwood Dick who won over 2 winners and a dog brought in to kill him, I’m sure there are many outstanding dogs I’ve forgotten or just don’t know about.
To me one of the most outstanding impressive dogs ever would be dogs like Hustler 2xL, brought in 2lb’s light both times into 2 Ch’s and lost both, but gave 100%.

 

Think it will be interesting to see what dogs people come up with.. Harry for sure, I know nothing on Deadwood Dick and Nato other than their names, know little on the Montana x Reid crosses, but still say Hustler 2xL remains (along with Whitten's Rocky, Bash and Dirty Bertie) among the gamest I seen.

Another candidate would be Ch Ralph, started his his career late and earned his title aged 8 or 9.

 

In terms of producing, what about Shoplands Bash? Produced two champions and a string of 1 and 2 time winners, also the Myrtle gyp who was good producer also. I wonder if there's so many successful lines come off that Montana x Bash cross, it be difficult to count them.

Mayfield 1x was the first breeding from harry there was only 2 pups born, second litter there was 3 champions and 3 two time winners out of 10 pups, third litter 2 pups born with one dying at about 2 or 3 weeks old and the other making champion, harry was bred to another bitch but she did not hold, a very good record

 

An extremely impressive production record. All blacks do you know if Dinky ROM was ever bred to owt else other than Harry?

 

I seen most of these dogs go , including "Harry", all very good , above average dogs , Ch"Piper" had savage mouth , but my choice from "Harry" was Ch "Lawman" he won quick all but killing a dog in 15 mins , his 2nd was a war against a dog going for Champ , and his 3rd show in 1hr and 24 when an older dog ,,,I also seen "Mayfield" do you know what way he was bred , as I never knew he was from "Harry"

 

as far as I know dinky was only breed to harry, mayfeilds mother was a bitch breed tight on dogs they had a good few years before harry dogs like ch gypsy

 

In your opinion.what dogs would you say were the greatest???

seen a few peds on dinky but if your talking about the one you can find on this site then that's the one peter p give with dinky, they still have the hand writing ped peter p wrote out, they said they never had any reason not to believe him as he jokingly said he wanted people to know who her breeder was if she worked out, dinky was a good mix of snooty, bullet and redboy
