I'll look into. So how would a .40 compare in penetrating and spread?

just depends on which load you are considering. if you dont handload, the 9mm is the second cheapest gun to practice with, the .22lr being first. i like to practice alot, and save time at my reloading bench for rifle rounds

With the cost of bullets these days, unless you like to target shoot alot and find the best load for your gun, reloading doesn't really pay off anymore. Used to be able to save some money by doing it yourself. :(

are you fuckin kidding me? without my bench id wouldnt be able to afford to shoot my '06s, .308s, 30-30, or my 45/70...ill keep reloading, you keep telling yourself that

I don't know where you live at but around here price of bullets is so high by the time you figure in powder and primers plus time, it's just not worth it unless you want to play with the different loads to see which one the likes more. And the price keeps going up.

i buy in bulk man it definitely helps. i have a couple rifles that will shoot half MOA all day long with the handloads ive worked up, so its worth it to me.

Never got it in a bulk order and I will say the only good gun store where I live has steeper prices than if I'd drive an hour to the city. I know I used to get those wolf rounds real cheap. (I know they're junk). Used to only be $300 for 1000 rounds. Then it doubled in a matter of months when the Chinese started buying up all the lead.

If you hit em the first time you won't have to worry about throwin. Here's something to try........sites. It works a lot better than holdin it sidewayz like those thugs in the movies and then you don't have to worry about hitting everythin but your target:D

Atexan, all I can say I'd wow. That was bad.

i have a usp45, glock 21, and kimber tactical custom II. the kimber is 100X better in craftsmanship and feel while shooting. i get way better groups in every range past 15 feet with the kimber. you don't need more bullets especially when dealing with a .45 round. you need accuracy! the price is worth the gun. only thing is id rather have steel than aluminum.

Favorite revolver!?!?? I been tryin to buy this colt anaconda that's stainless and has an 8 3/4 in barrel for three years..........but Dad won't come off of it for nothin!!!! Other than that, raging bull, colt python (long barrel), s&w titanium 357 mag snub (for carry), 460 s&w, and I've been wanting to get a judge and try it out.

Forty6mantis: Nice, we think alike. My conceal and carry is a HK USP Compat .40 and it is phenomenal.

i bought a Judge "public defender" awhile back and was really disappointed by the fit and finish, but hey it is a Taurus. as for the Scandium alloy S&Ws, (i assume thats what your referring to) they are not worth the price for what they are. my little bro had one (360PD) and at 12 or 13 oz (cant remember which) all youll end up shooting in it is .38s so you might as well save a few hundred and get a 637 and boxes of ammo to practice. they only weigh 15 ounces anyway. the 360 with magnum loads was like open hand slapping a smooth finish concrete slab as hard as you can again and again. he later put a better set of grips on it to absorb recoil which added bulk and it lost the concealability a J-frame S&W has going for it in the first place.

I never owned a 1911 but my buddy let me borrow his Custom TLE II. I put a few hundred rounds through it and it kept stove piping. All the jhp's i put through and most ball ammo stove piped with stock mags and after market mags. He sent it back twice and it kept doin the same thing. When it did shoot i really liked it but that was too much trouble to go through for a $1000~ gun. Before that i really wanted a cdp but not after that.

My old man uses one for carry. I shot a 357 mag through it......... one time. It ain't no target gun. But the good side is it's so light and small you barely know it's there. And it has the sweet rubber grips with a lazer on the middle fingure grip. It's not a good target gun at all. I'm a little disappointed to hear you didn't like your judge, I was hoping to hear good feed back on that one. The thought of a 410 in a six shot revolver sounded good.
