Ya, he is a barnstormer. That hog isn't a wild one though. A wild hog would have torn him apart with its snout. You can tell the dog hasn't been on any real hogs by the way it gets out in front of the hog while holding the ear. Dogs learn quick to back their body into the hogs body and hold on to the ear. That keeps the hog from gutting them.

well, like you said- dogs can learn style and technique. but this dog has some drive for sure, and that can't be learned- they either got or they don't. nice little dog- I'd feed him

I agree! This little guy has guts. I am planning on picking up either a patterdale or a jagd in the next month. Hopefully it has drive like this.

you want a drive like this get a patterdale.. you will have more chance than with a jagd terrier. get a mix and you may have added nose and range, or your pup may throw to only one side

I need the nose and the range. I have bulldogs for catch.

I see you found my patterdale "Haas" video. As you can see he hates hogs. I got him from my good friend from californiacatchers.com (check out the website). The pictures you see is Haas on a huge wild hog. Once he grabs he does not let go. I don't put him on large hogs anymore because he's to nice of a dog and i don't want to get him killed. I have plans on breeding him in the future.

The hog in this video is a true small wild hog. Before this video my dog has been on about 12 wild hogs. In the video he is only a year and a few months old. Check out the pictures I posted on my other post That is also a wild hog (280 lbs). My dog weighs 18lbs.
