If there is an infection, I just keep her clean and hit her with some antibiotics. The two biggest problem areas I've found with terrier work are eyes and feet, but most outings just require a good bath, eye flush, and maybe some neosporin. I have tried coon, but I guess I just wasn't hungry enough 'cause it wasn't that good... and that was after soaking in salt water for three days!

 

So you mentioned her parents. Were they also working stock? Or is this one of those cases where the genes come down from old ancestors and make a great dog?

Her sire was an jack russell type of unknown breeding. His owner said he would take off for days at a time up in the mountains in Arkansas and come back and all jacked up and sometimes near death. I saw him one time, when I went to pick up this bitch, and he looked like frankenstein- he'd been put back together at least a few times LOL.

Her dam was a show bred English Bull Terrier who didn't show well because she was "too terrier in type and overly dog aggressive" according to one judge. so, her owner gave her to some hog hunters. I tracked those guys down and they said she died working and that she was "psycho" haha soI never did see the dam- she was out of the picture by the time I picked up this bitch @ a year and a half old

 

^I have her half brother too. Same sire as my bitch but with a registered JRT dam. he's still young

Wow bro she is a looker man. I would def breed her to a small working terrier and see if you can get some good hunters. If her half brother works out that would be the way i'd go. If he doesnt work well I'd prob do like stated above and try to find a nice working Patt and go that direction. With the exclusion of Bulldogs I dont believe theres a gamer dog out there then an honest Patterdale. But I havent seen them all so who knows. If you do breed her and decide to move some pups I'll give you 2 bags of feed for one. Lol
