ok we all know my boy is a rescue, he was almost dead when found. he had to be on IV fluids for 1 week, worms so bad he was anemic, so many cuts he had IV antibotics and oral for 3 weeks. so i don't know if this is normal for dogs(cause i've seen one hiccup), or if it was something i needed to have vet checked since he has over come so much...but my question is: he gets hiccups all the time, night time is the worst for him. is that ok???

also: sometimes he drinks really fast and it is as if he sucks some down the wrong tube cause he gets all raspy for a while. is he just excited and drinks to fast or mabey a bigger problem??

My 4 month old female gets the hiccups everyday sometimes more than once a day. No big deal. In fact my mother used to tell me when I was growing up that you only grew when you had the hiccups. Now I'm sure thats just an old wives tale, but who knows. lol In fact she(my puppy has them as I type this.lol)

Instead of giving your dog a big bowl of water, decrease the amount of water in it & put several ice cubes in the bowl instead. This will cause your dog to not only decrease the amount of water he takes in at a time, but will also force him to drink slower

My pup gets hiccups almost everyday and he is doing fine. When he gets excited is the most common type for him to get the hiccups. But after a few minutes they stop.
