Very true. Finding good gas is getting harder and harder.

I held out for the longest. I can mix my own.

One or two carb repairs/replacements and that little extra is pretty much nothing.

I have a buddy who is in the logging business. He still mixes his gas but everything gets used daily or almost daily.

My stuff sits as much, if not more, than it is used so I buy the premix stuff.

It hurts a cheap skate like myself too.

I could prob use airplane fuel and mix my own and it prob be a little cheaper than pre mix. That pre mix stuff is nice and that gallon will prob last me almost all summer between the weedeater and blower. So not to bad.I can tell you it takes longer to burn a tank of pre mix plus a lil more HP.

The Jonsered the same. It seems to get better 'mileage' on the pre-mix.

The blower on the other hand, seems like it runs out faster.

The Toro weed eater seems to go for ever on the pre-mix.

I inherited a Stihl from my father-in-law. I think it was the one Noah used to cut trees to build the ark but I could be wrong. It is back when things were made with metal, real metal. It is heavy as all get out and being in the logging industry it maybe had a million trees on its resume. Shitty gas got the carb too.

Same with the older Farm Boss 029 too.

Many a 2 stroke has been ruined with the crappy gas out there.

I like to use premix if i know im only using the tool for the season and not everyday. Husq makes a good premix as well but for my weed eater and blowers, i still like to mix.

Well easiest way to lose warranty claim is the say you used bad gas.See they can't tell me that because I am using Echo pre mix only in my echo weedeater.I am also running that in my Hitachi blower. Its good stuff man.

Cool thing about Stihl is if you have a receipt for their oil, you get another 4 year factory warranty.

I got a 5 year warranty on my Echo and didn't have to do anything .Only thing it wont cover is bad gas and to my knowledge Stihl won't either.

Jonsered offers the same thing. 2 years off the bat. Add two years if you buy the Jonsered/Red Max pre-mix fuel. I think I bought I bought four cans.

.More folks buying weedeaters, chainsaws, blowers, etc etc than ever before. How many do you figure actually read the manual to see what fuel the company recommended lol.So they stop by first gas station they see and fill the gallon jug up with 87 lol.Wonder why it don't right!

Few years ago I got a Stihl weed eater I used it about 3 times and my cousin came by and asked to borrow it.Never thought nothing about it and said sure his had just quit .You think the light would have come on and I would have asked what happened to his lol.I never gave it a thought and he brought it back a few hrs later so no big deal.Next week I crank the fucker up and it's running like total fucking shit.Sure enough he ran some shitty 87 through it .I poured it out and put some good in it .We had a big discussion on fuel after that .He admitted he had already put 3 carb kits on his weedeater lol.Dammmm .

Dont you people learn.....Always buy Stihl and Pro. If you buy the back handle MS201 its better than anything up to the MS360 Pro. These are worth the extra money. I have some modifications on both new and older models that make them sound like mini harleys LOL not to mention how they run.

I have an MS460 Magnum that I have put through hell for about 12 years now and it stihl starts after three pulls cold LOL.

    I got a question @bamaman
Or anyone that knows for that matter, I just know Bama like chainsaws.
Is this a decent chainsaw to buy?

    Screenshot_20231101_213310_Amazon Shopping.jpg

I'm in need of a chainsaw but I'm not trying to be a lumberjack. Just need it to trim and slowly knock down some branches on my trees on my yard. This happened last night, it happens more than I'd like it to acutally, you can tell from looking at some of the other trees so I want to start wackin away at my trees while trying not to kill myself in the process.

I don't know squat dick about chainsaws. Just know my Sawzall takes to damn long to cut larger sections and the vibration it makes when i try to cut anything over 4" shakes my insides. I got to get these trees back by my dogs under control. If that size branch falls on my kennels its either death or a yard accident.

Husqvarna is a good brand AGK. Just stay with a light weight saw . I have a few saws and my go to saw is a little Echo CS310 . It weighs tad under 9 lbs . Lots of people go to big especially on their first saw . Just for homeowner stuff like your doing just go with a good name brand and stay around 8 to 9 lbs .

I think the one you posted above is around 10 lbs and that’s not bad .

We had a Stihl Farm Boss 029 around here for what seemed like a hundred years. (LOL)

You could look at it and it would crank, year after year.

When it finally started to act like it was 100 years old I bought a Jonsered.

No issues other than after a handful of years the bar adjuster is warn out and they are real proud of them locally.

I need to check on line because the season is upon us already. 33 degrees last night.

But like Bama said, most name brands will serve you well and let the weight be a factor in your selection and you will be fine.

The weight is a big deal because you never seem to be cutting in that perfect, knee bent stance like in the commercials so holding 9lbs at an odd angle is a lot easier than holding up 12-13-14 lbs.

I put the echo that bama uses in my cart instead of the one posted. It's like 70 bucks cheaper than the one posted. Thankfully none of that shit fell on my kennels but this coming spring I have to get to work on getting rid of these huge overhanging branches on my trees. It snowed the other day and since my trees still have all their leaves on them the branch just couldn't take the weight and snapped. Spent like 4 hours out there last night clearing away what I could with a Sawzall. Hopefully I can finish it up later today after work. What a pain in the ass. I've always hated these trees anyways. Nonstop constant raking is all it is.
