How big should my dog be in the next 5 months?

So right, my dog is quite small. He's 7 months old now and is 14 inches at the withers and about 14lbs lean. All of his siblings are around 19 inches tall at the withers and weight 30 + pounds. Now, I'm wondering, is it possible that my dog can grow to be the same size as all of his siblings will in the next 5 months. I mean, if they max at at about 50lbs, is it possible that my dog (though a late bloomer) can grow to that 50lbs within that time period. The dam of my dog is about 21 inches tall and about 42lbs, the sire is about 28 inches tall and about 68lbs. So the parents aren't tiny. My dog is a late bloomer, but it does have some time to grow, so I was wondering if there is still a chance my dog might grow to be at least its mother's size?

  2. If the other dogs are lean, as yours is there is no way yours will be as big as them. Make sure without a doubt that nothing else got with the dam, because you can have multiple fathers within a litter. It's not unusual to have one larger, or smaller than others. This much difference in size is more than a little difference, but it does happen. I think that at 7 months there's not much chance of late growth, but who knows. I've seen stranger things happen. I've always liked the smaller dogs a little more. Sincerely Randall

Damn 14 lbs at 5 months is tiiiiiiiiny to me. Most likely you got yourself a small one there. Under 40 full grown id say. Never know though. Might want to ask about your dogs lineage and see if that offers some insight. How they physically mature and at what age. If your dog comes from an established breeding program they shouldn't have a problem telling you that information. At around that age, with the dogs I got I'd expect that dog to come in under 30. Easy. These mature different than others though.

Honestly it's really nothing with worrying about. Your dog is gonna be what it's gonna be. That's genetics man. Keep it on a well balanced puppy food give it lots of love and attention and water it twice a day. It'll be right as rain.

Our brood bitch is 25 lbs soaking wet :-) I like smaller dogs easier to keep and feed. Now my Lukane x Tab male is huge.
