Actually its not what I want to do its what the dog will or wants to do as some will not run a mill ,pull chains or do flirt or spring pole etc.. you dont taylor the dog to your conditioning program but you taylor your condtioning program to the dog. Words of wisdom that my mentor taught me and hopefully it can help you for those who wish to learn.

I picked "hand walk" but I also give him free run time (in fenced in yard with me right there) also we play baseball (well I pitch the tennis ball and he catches, LOL) I think he'd make a good flyball team player

No right answer to this poll, as multiple things are used to get a dog "in shape".

  5. i just do handwalking if my mutts is not in schedule for his weighted collar...
however i'd like to experiment the keep approach for my show type apbt to make him more ripped and lean...

I DON'T LIKE BIG, FAT AND CROSSBRED, MASTIFF-BASED PIT BULLS....

whatever is available at the time. usually treadmill runs, hand walking, and free run. swimming would be the best(imo), but it's not an everyday option in the city.

Thats my philosophy, too. And even though they can outrun me, none of my dogs can keep up as long as I can. I can play tug of war, but when it comes to the springpole, I'm at a disadvantage.lol

Well, after shampooing, I lather some coconut conditioner into his coat, going in counter-clockwise circles. Rinse and repeat....

Right now I walk him twice a day, 3-4x a week, about 30min each time. Other than that I play tug of war with him until I get tired or some small games of fetch. He's just pup though and I live in an apartment. I can't wait till we move and I can buy a mill and build a springpole.:D

handwalking, hand jogging, swimming and LOTS of it against current, springpole, flirt pole, tug o war. sprints by playing fetch, dragging chain. anything will work if you do it right and take the time and patience and not try to rush a dog. good high quality food and genetics are part of it to... :)

Make sure to give your dog enough rest. An underworked dog, is better than an overworked dog..............................................

All Of The Above Will Get Em Right But Like Fifty Said If They Do It You Do It Cause When The Event Takes Place You Gonna Be Right There With Them. They Need That For Confidence.

I have my dog run for about 45mns to 1 h on one day, then the next I have him pull either lighter weights onfor a long walk or heavy charges for short distances in reps. the third day I have him rest. Sometimes he goes swimming.
