Might still be about. There were still pure Reid dogs about around 15 or so years ago, wouldn’t know if they’re still about in it’s pure form now as I haven’t seen lad since.
I’m sure the Limey/Nelis-Tug supporters could argue differently about the most influential line. Smaller population size and at least as many Ch’s.

Still got a few of those. Unfortunately I had to sell a good few of them due to financial issues I was having some years ago

The man makes a valid point.. Joe Graham had Reid bred dogs himself so had a vested interest.. Joe was big admirer of Scotsman's Max and judged that famous show.. Anyone could easily argue PBN was biased in favour of Reid dogs, but to me it always appeared to be 'certain Reid dogs!'.. Maybe I'm wrong, but can't remember Scar Kennels Sheena Black, Jacko and Max, or Jones' Scrapper getting anywhere near the hype of Max, Yogi or Hagar.. GR.CH. Bill probably an over hyped, bogus grand champion and Hells Jocks CH. Bash disregarded as a second division game plug, and 25 years when I joined this board, nothing had changed!:-B

Joe was a friend. Whilst he was obviously favoured a Skipper dog, I don’t think he really favoured any dog or line when it came to filling the pages of the PBN. I think the main reason more Ch’s from other Reid dogs and other lines never had their stories in it’s pages was that people, with good reason, didn’t want the attention such a story brings. Therefore a good many owners refused to write the stories. I know Joe asked a good few kennels for the stories but people declined his offer to publish.

Off topic but I just walked my Staff Billy, fireworks going off left right and centre and he was even less impressed than I was.
Didn't bat an eyelid. First dog I've had like this regarding fireworks.

Joe was a cool guy, cant remember whether it was his - or Ed's - conformation/weight pull show that Richard Stratton judged? I suppose you're right a lot of owners refused to write stories on their dogs and I guess that just came down to personality, certainly when I first visited East End Kennels, I had to be recommended by Joe Graham first until I got to know them.. Limey Kennels were much more open about their dogs with reports, stories and shout outs to other dogmen, but the best one I remember was the photo below.. Not someone you could ever call naïve, or unaware of the potential consequences of such a photo, he just didn't give a fuck! Loved the dogs, the limelight, the fun, the community! A true dogman and good one too! =D>

That would be Joe’s show in 1986 at Wythenshawe that Stratton judged. Joe was the first to organise dog shows and print a mag for the breed in the country. Don’t think I’ve seen so many people at any bulldog show before or since. Doubt Ed would have paid Stratton to judge a show. At the time Ed refused to bring out a mag or have shows, until he saw the success Joe made if it.
Always remember that snap of Masada. As you said he didn't give a fuck .
