I try to play tug of war with Natas but he does not seem interested. I would like to do something more interactive with him like tug of war but he almost acts scared. got any suggestions on what i should try?? i tried putting peanut butter on the toy just to pique his interest, which it did but all he wants to do is eat it now. If I do get him to grab ahold of it once i start pulling he immediately drops it.

let him pull. usually just a lil pull from you should get him started.

i've tried that and he instantly drops it, i pull lightly so he doesn't think i'm trying to take it away or anything but he won't play. it's so weird, i've never had a dog not want to play tug of war.

Let him see other dogs playing it, if he still doesnt want to, then its not meant to be.

It took me awhile to get my pup interested in tug-o-war. He didn't start playing until he was almost one. He only plays with me though...he won't play with another dog. I think it's because Apollo always takes it away from him! Keep trying and be patient. Sometimes it just takes time.

  6. Try tying it to something and then make him grab it. Once he grabs it, give him the "good boy" and continue by getting him excited and pulling on it. It may pull a bit at first but then he/she will get to pulling harder and harder. Then, you can try doing it together.

He/She may not want to "challenge" you by not allowing you what you want. Just a thought.
