Is it hard to get hunting rifles and shotguns up there? I would be a kid in a candy store with all of the different species of deer. =P~

If you don't have a criminal history its not to bad to get long guns, hand guns are only allowed at shooting range's and require a extra licenses and much more laws to follow if you decide to own one. Though the power's that be seem to be trying to put new laws in place to make it harder for law abiding citizens to purchase legal firearms. They think by making stricture laws gang banger's are going to stop shooting each other with dirty guns they obtained illegally in the first place. People such as myself are the one's that are paying the price for the illegal act's of others uses of firearms.

Yourself and Soze would have ZERO problems fitting in in Newfoundland. Kindest most friendly easy going people you could ever meet, the type that would give a stranger the shirt off there back. Some of my best pals I have had in my life time were from there they have all moved back now, but had some great times and memories with those boys! or as they say it bye's.

  6. Arrrrrr!!!!!!!
i wanna go there! Move there forever lol.

Is the Newfoundland dog still a common breed over there BB?
just a breed of dog i no nothing about.
i no Landseer painted one.but thats all i no really...oh,and they were commonly stole in Victorian Brittain because they fetched a good ransom price..i read that somewere..
but do you no anything about this huge beast of a dog???

    just curious.

  7. Also i always think some of the Gundogs and Hounds in the States look like they got some sort of Bulldog influence?...i no its seems like a crazy suggestion, and it maywell be my eye sight, but of videos and pics ive seen ive noticed some Gundog and Hound breeds over there, thats some, not all..look like they have some Bulldog influence?
whats your suggestions to that BB?
like is it my eyes and im i totally wrong here?.or is this a possiblity?

I hear ya. I live in California, which is home base for stupid gun restrictions. If I want to buy anything other than a coach gun I'll go to Arizona.

Newfoundland is 6000km/3700mile's from me and I have never been there but I would image they would have a good amount of hunting dog's and small terriers (rat killer's). I see the odd Newfoundland dog around my parts though there's a woman around my place I see walking one every once in a while looks like shes got a black bear on the end of her leash. Monster of a dog. Not sure how there built under all that fur. My one buddy from there told me back home in Newfoundland his father ran Irish Setter's for hunting dogs, he had a few of them the where strictly bird dog's not pets.

Funny you say that up hear in Alberta Canada I see Black Lab's all the time I would swear they have more American Staffordshire in them than black lab. From the shape of there head to there muscular build. As far as hounds go they are very game for not being a bulldog so who know's. Most Cougar hunter's around my parts use blue tic hounds some look like they have bulldog traits I know they are tough as hell and much gamer than your average breed. The guy that runs them my Uncle hunts cougars with head dog (a old bitch) looks as chewed up as any roll dog, Ears half gone scars on scars on her face one bad eye all from cat's. Once she's on sent she wont stop uncle the cat's treed or shes dead.

  12. Thanks for the info BB.thanks brother.
I was expecting a good well thought out answer from your self,so thats why a asked.
Ive always thought it about the hounds and gundogs mate..i new it was not my eyes lol..ive just never said this before,as i could imagine evey one like lol he thinks hounds and gundogs have got bull in em..he must be crazy..
But any or most labs look like they got some type of bull in em i think..and Cheasapeaks i think mate...
man even Newfoundlands have got a broad skull..

Im not sure what the body of the newfi is like under there coat???
but ive read as big as they are, they can littery survive on rashens what a Collie wouldent even survive on.(Collies can survive on a very low protien diet, basiclly nothing, and still work sheep in the most hostile parts of Wales and the English Lake District)
if this is so from such a huge beast of a dog...then i have to say its incredible.
very nice dogs.and not just nice because Landseer painted one....
they are huge so are a good deternt.they are huge, but yet survive on a diet that would make a Collie skin and bone...they have a soft mouth for retreaveing.and they have a good nose and a strong hunting instinct...

LOL i aint never seen one in the flesh in my hole life..but a curios breed that i quite like all the same...

All the best BoxBulldog...nice talking to ya man.

  13. And hunting big cats sounds extreame man..
i no most hunters who hunt these big cats shoot them when they are brought to bay by the hounds...
but do you no of any hunters who bring them to bay with hounds, then use a Bulldog to hold them???

Big cats,or all cats,i would say,are cowards...but them big cats could fucking still wreck a dog or Bulldog i think.

The hounds tree them and keep them bayed. You walk up and shoot it out of the tree. It's not for me but to each there own. I am more scared of a Cougar than any Grizzly bear. There is no dog on earth that could have a go at our cats around here. My Grandmothers friend and neighbor had a old English bull dog, No game dog but still a tough 80lb dog. She let it out for a piss it didn't come back. She went out to look for him he was dead on the driveway with Fang marks in the back of his neck. Big strong 80lb dog done like dinner in a few seconds he probably would of lasted a little longer and could of made some noise if he had on a fat leather collar on at the time. The cat below was shot in my province, my brother's buddy got one bigger than this one. A lot are at least 250lbs. Even if you have a gun on you if your not 100% ready for it your a dead man, they are so fast you couldn't get aimed before its to late. And they stalk you, sneaky bastards.

  16. Wow...holy shit bro..thats one huge moggy.fucking hell man,i bet cats that big are a fucking nuisence..exreamly dangerous big game..
i bet the hounds what hunt them are very very good at there job..
hahaha..and people think cats are cute!(far from cute i say)but even a normal cat can be a fucking pest..i bet a cat like that big one eats some food.i bet it kills all the game man..
what type of cat is it mate???

I gotta say there some great reading on this board..i no you get folk kicking of from time to time or loons talking shit on here..,but i am totally indabated to some of the knowlege people share on here,,,.....im grateful for the learning i really am.

Most fairys who moan about hunting and stuff really dont understand it all...
put them in a hostile envoroment with big cats like that one BB and im sure they would quickly have diffrent veiws mate...
i can see a fairy looking at that pic and saying stuff like "thats terrible" "arr poor cat" "thats crule"
    witch ofcourse is obserd..
you can garentee people who say this live in a apartment and have never ventured out into the wilderness..

Ide say who ever hunts cats like that are doing a great favour to the area they live in...
and the people who hunt these beasts probably deserve a medle imo.

Yes BB..i would not feel comfterble hunting them moggys even with a gun.
i would not like to stand even 70 ft away from one as i can imagein there strike range to be like a fucking Tigers lol.

    nice pic mate...
one huge cat that mate....if that lived in my area i think ide have nightmears lol.

Honestly for the most part they stay far away in the bush. But if one does start hanging around farms it has to be shot. I have no issue with them that's part of being out in the bush wouldn't be much fun if there was no danger. There isn't that many of them they figure around 2500 in my province of Alberta. The record Cougar shot from my province was 218lbs. My Uncle said when you put the hounds on one there strides are at least 30' apart in the snow but they tire quick that's why they tree.
