I have limited number of dogs so feeding raw is what I choose to do and get the best results. However if I had more dogs than I got, raw wouldn't be a option for me. But good article.

Good article.I have a good vet and I asked about it several times. She never said anything either way when I asked just get back to talkin about my dogs.Visit before last she brought it up she said I kno youve asked my opinion she said almost everyone that does it (feeds raw)in most cases are not smart enough, disciplined or can afford to do it right so she would normally not recommend it to most but said it is awesome in self reward and through your dogs if done correctly. The healthiest dogs she sees eat raw when done correctly she said to be honest most are not capable of sticking with it even after they get it figured out.

couldnt guess why, if you search out and apply the resources it should be cheaper than the cheapest kibble. the only thing you cant really get around is the time it takes to prep.

dont know why, it isnt that complex.

Yea its not overly complicated unless you make it so. But I do agree, the average bear is not up to the challenge of properly feeding themselves, let alone their dog.

I've tried the sites, shipping is what makes buying bulk so expensive. More expensive than kibble. So I made friends with the butcher, still is about the same price. Meat, lard, veggie, rice, egg, multi vitamin is what I use. Meats vary..chicken, beef, salmon usually.

go to your local processor and get some chicken backs. usually cost about 50 cents a lb.

Chicken backs and beef hearts are usually the cheapest and both are great. A friend is hooking us up with his supplier for 50# boxes of beef heart and whole livers. Everything else I can source myself easily although I'll be asking about chicken backs for my bone content.
Its all about finding the others in your area who have already found the cheaper source. The most expensive part I've found over the years is the freezer space lol next big appliance purchase for us will be a standing freezer

Don't know why anyone would waste salmon on a dog, especially since there are far better fish to feed out there...

Mercury levels in certain fish can be dangerous in high consumption. In animals and humans. Tuna and so forth. The two fish I feed are salmon and tilapia. They are low in Mercury, high in protein. Very good sources of fish oil for the coat and joints due to fat content.

I don't know much about feeding raw, but stickboy says mackerel or however you spell it works great n his record speaks for itself.

Mackerel is a good source, so are a lot of fresh water fish like bass and catfish.
