Which pond? Where did the water from that pond come from? Was there pesticides sprayed around that farm land as it can seep and run off into ponds and lagoons? Is the food being fed to the fish organic? What type of filtration or aireation flow is used to clean the pond water? Any supplemental growth hormones used? Any antibiotic treatments for fish? I do, I see what your saying. But are you understanding that all that plus much more is in a lake or River? The water for these ponds are filtered, ariated ponds. Not stagnant water. The water comes from reservoirs and storage silos to avoid contamination. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of (pond raised) fish. And grains are organic. The ariation they use is a pump more or less like you use in a fish tank with antibacterial filters for what the UV Rays cannot kill. That is what I was just told by US army corps engineer sitting next to me laughing at this ridiculous BS lol.

 

Hence, if the water is not moving it does not contain air pockets. So they need aeration so the fish don't die from lack of Oxygen. Plus, they have sediment and flotation removal. Meaning to remove waste from all the fish.

 

No two pound farmers are the same. It cost a shit ton of money to do everything right and some farmers barley even break even, hence why a lot of them CUT CORNERS to make ends meet. Some ponds arent filtered properly and some dont even have ariation flow pumps. Wrong not all grains are organic as the organic ones cost triple the cost of the non organic ones. No Keystone, it has what's called a sedimentation and floatables removal system. Similar to a grit removal system at a water treatment plant. They do this so the ammonia levels don't get so high due to fish poop and kill the fish.
