Just go to Mississippi and check out some those highly educated people you say are following all these regulations.Yea the Fed Gov does have all these regulations but just like anything gov.regulated these rules are a joke.These farms are the economy there.most farmers are not even High school educated without these farms you have a welfare state which cost who so why would they be motivated to set up rules and turn a blind eye to there enforcement.Fish out of the river is the healthier of the two but you are correct our rivers are super polluted because of us.The Mississippi being one of the worst.I love catfish and eat a little bit of farm raised but mostly river cat.You aint gonna raise High Fin Blue or appaloosa flat head in a farm pond.there is really no comparison dont care who you have sitting in the room with you or typing for you.

I eat pond raised catfish regularly. I also know lots of folks that raise anywhere from 500 to 1000 acres of catfish. I like US raised catfish. I prefer Flathead catfish (apalousa) out of running water river and bayous. Catfish are high in mercury in wild situations. In pond raised sources the water comes from underground aquafirs same as ur drinking water prior to chlorination. The feed is primarily poultry meal, soybean meal, corn, wheat midlands, and small amounts of lime. Salt is placed directly into ponds to combat some issues such as algae and Ick. A pond raised catfish is not any less healthy than any other commercially raised meat in the US. While some of the other meats are in fact far less healthy than the fish. Now on to the chicken backs. The dogs ain't getting that either till I get done. Gotta gnaw some backs myself time to time.

I feed fish 2x a week, I feed whole sardines. Supplement a little salmon oil a few days a week when not feeding fish
