I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing so if I ask a stupid don't laugh. Our first show is in March in LA and I've been putting a cylinder brick behind her everyday for about 20 min. I wouldn't pull to much weight untill the dog reaches 1 1/5 yrs to avoid any health issues later on.
just let the dog be a pup ;)

well if you would like to ruin your dog and dont wish to have a good weight pulling dog then listen to whoever told you to start early, but if you do want a good weight pulling dog then listen to what the people on here have to teach you. around 1 and 1/2 years is a good time to start ,not 5-6 months

  14. you have to resize the photos. right click on the pictures in your album and click on Resize, t ype in 600 x 600 I just figured out how to do it so some one may know how to explain it better. welcome to the forum

When they are young, their bodies and bones are still growing and forming. You could do alot of damage to your dog by forcing him/her to drag around a cynder block. At an early age you should only be getting him/her used to having a harness on and something trailing behind them. You would be surpised how many dogs are scared of the equipment the first time out. Good luck with your dog and welcome tothe board.

  18. Stop making a 5 month pup drag bricks, you are gonna ruin the dog before she is even old enough to pull properly. Listen to the folks here, trust me.

Also, how can you buy a dog and not know how its bred? I'm not being a jerk here, but did you just grab the first pit bull that someone offered you with "papers"?

EDIT - When you do actually get into pulling, please get your dog a proper harness.... I'm cringing at the idea of you most likly attaching a cinder block to a 5 month old pup's collar....

  19. Thanks guys so much gosh I can't believe I almost ruined her. But had not done but a couple time luckily and it had not been done consistently. I know your not being a jerk adivina but Basically I wanted a blue pit so yes the first one I seen with papers I grabbed it's not like I would have known blood lines anyway yes I should have looked stuff up. Now ask me some papers on a damn horse and I can tell you anything but this is why I'm on this forum is to learn what I getting myself into so when I make a future purchase on a dog I'll know what to look for and what not I train horses thats what I know but I do know my first horse did'nt have Dash for Cash or Bully Bullion in it as a matter of fact it didn't have papers. But I love her and well when I get her papers I'll know. And by the way i had a harness on her I'm not completely stupid I knew the part about attaching a logging chain on her collar an running it between her front legs as I was told to do was not right. I see horses coming through sale barn all the time with terrible marks from an improper fitting harness or something rigged up.I'm just letting you know not trying to be rude

  20. She is eight months now I had bought as like a 2 1/2 month old
