  1. Hey I can respect that you want to learn, and I can really respect that you realize you made some mistakes along the way. I don't think you were being rude. Stick around, read some threads.

I can promise you your pup won't grow up to be like the dogs you will read about on here, she is most likely not well bred at all. That doesn't mean you should love her any less - just don't expect her to be a game APBT, from the sounds of it she will be more of an American Bully when she grows up. But you know what? A game bred APBT isn't for begginners anyway, so enjoy your pup while you have her and take time to stick around here and learn. When she has passed and gone, maybe you will then be ready to handle a real APBT. Trust me it is probably best you don't have a game bred dog with the level of knowledge you are coming from right now - just sit back and enjoy the ride.

  2. Thanks thats what I plan to do I'm glad you understand.Don't be afraid to correct me if you see me say or do anything wrong.

that "wrote the book" was figurative...but he has written numerous articles and is one of the most respected people in the WP circuits.

  6. O ok I appreciate that well if my dog can't be game as far as conformation goes maybe she'll do good wp classes

Well you asked for corrections if need be gameness and conformation should never be used in the same sentence what your dog looks like has nothin to do with gameness.

  8. Ha ok But I mean like with these adba shows is it going to help if I have those popular bloodlines?

I dont believe so i'm pretty sure they go solely on looks i'm probably the wrong person to answer that as i personally dont care what a true bulldawg looks like.

  10. Well thats good, what is the difference between a bully and a gamedog or is there? this is so confusing

Its ok it takes time lol!!! I say bulldawg and spell it with the aw because of what the term PITBULL inspires in some people so sorry to confuse you a game dog in my view has to prove they are game. There are alot of different terms people go by with the American Pitbull Terrier(APBT).

Well thats a little more tough to answer because some people will jump on me for it lol!!! I usta believe weight pullin couldnt show a dog was game but i can now see how it could help. Combat is the only way to really know for sure but thats illegal lol!!!

Hers a good site and a better explanation to the term gameness then i could come up with.

  15. An American Bully is generally a mutt. The papers might say the dog is an APBT - but most dogs have some mastiff mixed in for size. Some are APBT mixed with American Staffordshire Terriers. The dog has been bred for color, looks, and size. This is the exact opposite of a game dog.

The game dog wasn't bred for looks, the game dog wasn't bred for color, the game dog was bred to be game. The APBT was obviously developed by dogmen of the past for its superior fighting ability. Today dog fighting is not legal - some folks choose to continue to do so. Others choose to use their dogs in weight pull, hunting, and other activities. Although being a game dog may give these dogs an edge at these sports, it is not to be confused with being proof that your dog is game. That can only be proven one way, and that way is illegal today.

I think Louis Colby said it best: "Whatever any other breed of dog can do, a pit bull can do it better - and then whip the other dog."

  16. My dog is not a mutt I do not wish to argue but simply stand up for my dog

its not an insult- the term "mutt" is just another to describe a "mongrel"...which is what alot of these am bullies infact are....

    Main Entry: mon·grel
    Pronunciation: \ˈmäŋ-grəl, ˈməŋ-\
    Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, probably from mong mixture, short for ymong, from Old English gemong crowd — more at among
    Date: 15th century
1 : an individual resulting from the interbreeding of diverse breeds or strains; especially : one of unknown ancestry
2 : a cross between types of persons or things

bluediamond girl, if you have a blue pit be prepared to hear she is a mutt often a lot of people feel that way dont get offended. You could try purebred puppy dot com and they could probably take you in and you will fit in better there than here I think.
