is it internal sneezing or asthma??

My pit bull has what the vet says is internal sneezing but she's never really listened to him. Is this common with Pits or any dogs?? it almost sounds like he takes a deep breath or what might sound like an asthma attack. He only does it when he gets excited or nervous. I've never had another dog that did it so the first few times he did it made me nervous because I thought maybe he was having a hard time breathing. He's 11 months old and he's always done this since the day i got him.

My dogs do that sometimes, too. Usually when we are walking by cars from the fumes or sometimes sniffing on the ground and getting crap up their noses.

My boy does that too. The vet told me its like a backwards sneeze and not to be worried about it.

that's exactly what mine does too but it sounds so bad it always worried me, it doesn't bother him though

  5. my younger dog does that just before he passes out. Vet said she does not have an answer for my dogs condition, but I've figured out just recently that it's after he's been sleeping for a while and get's up too quickly...he'll get this empty blank expression on his mug, and then drop for about 30 seconds. Sure it's not the same thing, though.

  6. Anyway, he'll do this strange snorting thing just before he drops

well i'm relieved to know it's not just mine so it must be fairly normal. He has an appointment saturday because he has a huge bump on his nose that bleeds sometime, i'm hoping he will do the snorting thing there just so the vet can hear it. He has never passed out from it though but I do notice he does it right when he gets up sometimes.
