First of all the food is no good. It will allow your dog to survive, but not thrive. The work schedule is dependent upon the dog. Rest is always more important than work. Watch the dog because he will tell you when he has had enough. Just because your schedule says he should do something next Thursday does not mean he is ready. And the opposite is true as well, you may have ten minutes planned and the dog may be ready for 15. Working a dog is a day to day, exercise to exercise process. Writing a keep schedule on paper is nothing more than a guide.

The most important thing from your post is the feed. It is not quality food. There are even better foods out there in that same price range. Sexton Bros. 21/10 is basically gravy covered cardboard. It will not hold up a dog working the way you described your work plan. Research some feed on this site. S

That doesn't look like a whole lot of workout, I do more on a daily basis. Sounds like a good little routine but it won't put a dent in that dog for sure.

Shut up guys that's a great keep and a great feed, and I hope all my adversaries follow it to a tee.

    ^----- funny as hell.

Fellas, I dont think he has a bulldog and is a youngin who wants to learn. The schedule is good to keep his dog fit, I dont think he is entering the square anytime soon. Just learn how to read your dog d and don't over do it with him, he'll tell you when he is done, you just have to know your hound. The work out you posted would not be a good regiment for a keep for a box dog but your pet will stay healthier buy keeping it busy and working. Good luck and keep on reading. ;)

Dont know anything about the feed but dont underestimate the importance of high quality feed when working a dog, you stack the odds against him from the start with low quality feed.

I think this young man is on the right track, he is out in the woods hunting with his dog ect.. he s learning and trhing new things if i remember correctly D is only 16 , to me its refreshing to see him trying new things. I think he needs to be applauded and given words of encouragement. Hey D i love what your doing with your dog keep up the good work. Yis Ole Man

Much better diet than the 21/10 Sexton Bros. Up the fat content a little and over a period of time you will see him pick up his energy and his endurance. Good luck. S

I am not a fan of the K9 super fuels, vertex, RF-1, or any of those. The pig fat is OK but beef fat and chicken fat would serve the purpose a little better. I like wheat germ oil as an additive as well. Cooked grease works well. I used it a lot when I fed from a bag. I put the bag food in a barrel/tub, poured in a bunch of grease and rolled it around coating all the chunks.

Good luck with the weight pulling. I have went to a couple and the weight they pull is absolutely amazing. Best of luck and post your pics and results. Anything positive with the dogs is a great thing. S

I am assuming you are speaking about the pig fat. The pig fat is OK, but the beef fat and chicken fat are better options. If you have it, by all means don't let it go to waste. If you have access to it in a cheap fashion there is nothing wrong with that either. Pig fat is better than no fat. By all means take advantage of any cost-effective means because dogs can get expensive is a quick minute.

My first experience feeding raw was when I was in the service. I rented a farm house from a guy who was a butcher by trade and processed meat (deer/cows) out of his shop. I got five gallon buckets of any and everything daily. I fed the dogs whatever came out of the bucket as I passed them by. No real rhyme no reason. It was free. So I too have fed what is readily available even if it is not the best thing out there at the time.

    Best of luck./ S
