I agree they must be treated like loaded guns. I think they all give a sign at some point. I just think sometimes the signs are over looked. I have not seen many that I think/thought would ever bite. I had one. He gave me a sign and I missed it. He gave me another sign that made me think. His third signal left no doubt. I fed him a vitamin that prevents dog bites.

I have never seen a pit bull that would defend a person (unless trained to do so). I have heard about them but never experienced one personally.

When we were doing bite work we disproved many a person who thought old spot would defend the family dwelling without training.

The importance of keeping these dogs separated from the world is paramount. My dogs are chained and then fenced. Odds are if something goes wrong they will not go but a spot or two away. It will be a mess but at least it will be my mess.

And I may be wrong but most of the attacks are attributed to 'pit bull' as long as the dog had one bulldog trait. Most dogs are who attack are not pit bulls but either mixes or non-game bred.

The problem is that there are a lot of dogs with some defensive drive. They will at least act like they will defend. They have some weak nerved territorial issues. Then add the tenacity, the athleticism, the power and the willingness to go all out. The combination usually proves to be trouble.

The problem is that all it needs is one bulldog trait and it is a pit bull. Unfortunately for us, if you have a pit bull, you have that loaded gun with the neighbor's kid on the front sight.

It is all apart of today's package.

  4. I live in an rv and due to its age and my dog I can't put it no were around here so I'm stuck on the roadside. I went to the store once with my Windows unlocked and he pushed one open and got out. Another time i went out for tge evening and the woman was home with a window open and the nastiest giant golden retriever ever was back out and my boy went right thru the window. The guy let's his goldens run off leash and his male has attacked my dog while on leash like a dumbie and the guy did absolutely nothin. Didn't even come get his dog so when I got home i told mine he's a good boy for getting him. Good thing the woman was home to go get him tho.

Seems most will do it but some are sneaky at it & hide it from you for a while. Particularly if they had a rich or large meal that has left undigested nutrients in their turd.

The food he is eating is likely too high in protein..and the digestion track can not process it all..due to lack of activity possibly.or just too high protien content...
Try to add some warm water to the food and see it it helps. ..or get a new blend..
Imngoimg to assumena kibble is being fed...

Could be a number of things..but iv also determined some families are just turds...othets turd eaters..lol.

He grabbed the bag of my boot. That was the first sign, and I thought he was playing. The second night he did the same just a little higher on the leg. I brushed the first night off but the second one really made me think. The third night he met me at the end of the chain spot and left no doubt.
Since the 80's the only one I have ever had like that.

Were you able to get the goat thrown in on the deal to feed to the dogs Haha? Billy goats go at farm auctions here for $50 dollars or less. There kind of a nasty, disgusting animal.

I forgot to say some of my pens have heavy chain link buried about a foot deep. Some have fifty inch cattle panels that are 20 foot long. I Cut then in half and make them a little over two foot wide. I lay them along the edge and fasten them to the chain link. I've never had a dog dig under them. They try to dig through them close to the chain link. They never back up to the edge and dig.

I forgot about and early incident. My wife corrected me on this. In the early 1960's. I had a dog that got off the chain and killed a monkey that a man owned two houses south of me. The monkey would come to my yard and get just out of reach of my dogs and scream at them. I ask the man to keep the monkey at his place that I feared a dog would get loose and kill the monkey. He said if it did he would kill all my dogs. I came home from working at Vance Air Force base and Sport came walking up to me dragging that monkey. I took him out to a deep ditch in the country and dumped him out. The next day there were ads in the paper and on the radio with a reward for info leading to his return. I scared me so in the night I went out there and got him. It was snowing hard. I put them monkey in a fork of a tree in his back yard and the ads quit. The heavy snow did away with my tracks. That is how I learn to put two collars on every dog on a chain. Sorry about my wrong info.

Sounds like the damn monkey deserved it. I would've shot the damn monkey if it wouldn't have stayed out of my yard. We have a neighbor that lets their dog roam all over the place. One time, the dog decided to come into my yard, by climbing my fence while we were out back. Key words, one time. Never happened again. It now will not even walk across the front sidewalk of my house when it roams, it crosses the street. Fine by me, I have told my neighbor time and time again to keep their dog away from my place. Well, now it does as I've asked.

Yes. We paid like $200 or so. Standing on some one else's property with a pit bull and a goat all mangled in the chest....there is not that much room for negotiation. He speaks and I say, "Yes Sir". Name the price and I will be back with the money.

Bama has me pegged. I see people regularly hurt or killed by Pitbulls. If this keeps happening we may lose are right to have them someday. I hope I die first. No matter what you write on here there is going to be someone step up and try to run you down. It is just the world we live in.
