  2. One of my favorates...thanks for that FWK.as ive lost the copy i had..
that gutenburgs got some great books hey mate..i never new Jock was on there to be honest.

And it sort of clears up the fact that Jock was NOT a show bulldog crossed with a Manchester terrier..
theres actully a picture of the show bulldog crossed with the manchester terrier and it says on that pic it was Jock of the Bushveld.
Were as the story says diffrent.
and i have to belive the story.as the pic is dated later then the story.

But what a dog Jock was.the films good to.its based on the book.but the books better.
the Zulus love him..arr they are mad for Jock.
the fight with the baboon is awesome, the fight with the crocodile sounds like a riot and keeps the reader at the edge of there seat.
the hole books just a awesome book.

  3. Theres just to many good things to list about the book.its a classic.
theres just no way its a lie...no one could right that if they had not of lived it.it would be impossible to do so,as theres just far to much detail.detail of everything.right down to the last thing.infact the detail is incredible..

It reminds me of Samul Barkers hunting in Celyon..thats another good adventure book, and he uses dogs to some extent to..another from the same time is Sandersons thirteen years among the wild beasts of India, and he to uses imported Bullterriers, and its pretty awesome.

But Jock takes the biscuit in my oppinon...and must truly touch any hunters hart.
a Bullterrier what must truely go down in history as a dog what took near on all sorts of big game..
LOL when people say bull breeds cant hunt, they should take a read of Jock.

    "Jock! Jock! Jock!"

  16. Dont think so on the Jock photos...but the drawings in the book are top quality.
there a pic of a show Bulldog x Manchester terrier that CLAIMS to be Jock but i doubt it is..it says in the book Jocks parents were imported from England and were prized Bull Terriers.and i doubt very much of reading the book that Jocks parents were show dogs.

And yeah, great wool suit it looks like there lol.sterdy boots to lol.i could do with a strong pair of leathers like that mate.my boots are hanging of me after a few months.bet that dude had his ones forever lol.
