has anyone tried k9 advantix? I usually give frontline plus but I am interested with advantix since it's suppose to keep mosquito's away as well. With the garlic about how much do you guys add to their meals for those who do? thanks.

i wouldnt do the garlic thing, stick with the medication.

    buck,
what i would do (guessing your dogs, are in the 35-60 lb range) is buy a buy a decent supply of frontline thats meant for the largest breed and just use half of a tube on each dog.
CA jack talks about it in the PB Bible

the only reason i dont reccomend garlic is cuz onions are fairly poisonous to dogs, i wouldnt feel compfortable using garlic cuz its similiar.
advantix or frontline is good, i dont use either unless we got issues. i spray the yard with permethrin, use python dust in the dogs runs & use cedar/pine shavings for the bedding.
does a pretty good job, when i notice they have fleas then i step it up and get the frontline.

Garlic is controversial; large amounts have been shown to cause anemia, similar to onions. Some say it has benefits when fed in the right dosage, but I would question it's ability to deter fleas when ingested (Given I eat a lot of the stuff and I'm still extra sensitive to anything that bites).

I know folks who use garlic/garlic juice externally, often in addition to apple cider vinegar. They say it works for fleas/ticks, but I don't want my house dogs smelling like salad dressing.

Gonna mention food grade Diatomaceous Earth again - you can get it at feed stores and sometimes even wal-mart. Sprinkle on the ground, rub on the hounds, and mix in with their feed. Does not only work on fleas, also works as a safe and natural wormer.

A link with some facts and info on the stuff if you are interested

Just get you some happy jack kennel dip. Use it once every three months or you can get a spray bottle and spray it on them but make sure you give them a bath with it the first time. Do not use to much water as you will dilute the solution. Works great for me. Start as soon as your weather warms up.

Some of u might think it's craZy but all I do all summer long is sprinkle cinnomon on thier food. It's like garlic and vampires ( so my vet says) but yes it works

i use permethrin 10 and it gets cut at a rate of 32 to 1 , once a month i spray em down standing the dog face into the wind and start right behind the ears and work my back from there. i get my permethrin 10 at the TSC

I read all this stuff about spraying this chemical stuff on your dog.
    What happend to garlic?

Seems like DeadGame is the only one that uses his common sence.

For almost everything there's a 100% natural solution.
