Kerry Blue Terrier?

Has anyone ever seen a Kerry Blue in action?

 

No...but not sure what action?
what actions do they do in 2020?
sit on the couch?
run around the park?

Wheatons are better in this day, but they getting thin on the ground two..

@Irish Rebel..there a vid on youtube of Kerrys being worked in the triels to Badger.the vid is from the 1920s!.you see a Kerry draw a big brock on that vid..the Kerry was a far better dog back then.

 

The are a show breed , not even in Ireland are they used for anything other than pets or show dogs,

 

Back in early 80's there was a compilation Video tape going around that showed a Kerry Blue v's a Wheaten, seem to remember the Kerry Blue being called Nigel (liked the name) Nigel got stopped anyway, but same tape had the Stafford called Psycho, Scotsman's Tania was on there and that farce between Limey's Ch.Smuggler and a dog called McCoy.. Nigel and the Wheaten was better

 

as a kid the kerry always had a reputation as a fighter and they certainly give that impression but only at the end of a lead .

 

Never owned a Kerry mate, but I had an Irish Terrier that was pretty much the same.

 

It’s a fake breed made up by the kc really the Irish terriers have suffered even more than english terriers.

 

Think i know the video tape your on about (Da and Uncles were on about it) The Kerry drew blood first.

proper old vid.and they dont triel the dog like they would have in say the 1950s onwards.they just stick the Badger in a long box that seems to be a foot or so beneith the surfus.then let the dog in to pull it out the box..
The Kerrys in that period are real nice dogs.nothing like the ones today.
ive seen a few pet ones.and they were pretty good at that.with some garding instinct and some dog aggression to.these pet ones were bred sometime in the early nightys,and had very very good coats..they looked functanol as say a farm type terrier gard mutt,with some ruggedness about them..

seen one last year and stoped to have a look.nothing like the old ones from the nightys.no hard coat,more of a silky wavey one.and with a dumb expression on its face.

Airedales to have now got a silky sort of coat.i remember me nan had one with a real hard coat,a real loon of a dog.im sure it bit the postman lol.
looked like a big Irish Terrier this one @OG but black and tan.she give it to some one up your ways somewere.fucking loon it was mate.

I suppose all these big terriers are similare in many ways.
i think the Airedale was a cross of Irish terrier to begin with.theres working ones in the States to this day.they work like a hound..
all these big terriers seem to be going extinct i think.
the Wheatons the only genuie ones left.
And i see two show bred ones of them quite oftern,and they are a discrase comperd to a real one.again silky coats and curled tails.whats with all these silky fucking coats?
it seems when any terrier with a hard coat gets bred for show there coats go silky in a few gens of this show breeding.
any one ever see like pet terriers or pet collies with coats on?that makes me laugh when i see that lol.hahaha.
I see a paterdale(pet one)everyday and its got a coat on to go round the block for two minets lol.i heard the chap talking one day saying it was a 'proper'patt....i thought if its a 'proper'patt,why the fucks it got a coat on lol.imaigin a dog on the fells?if it needed to wear a coat i bet theyd cull it lol.

Anyways,sorry to get of topic but i no nothing of Kerry Blues lol.

 

Lol I’ve had whippets on the fells with a slight shiver if a terrier couldn’t do it he wouldn’t be coming home.

 

talking about bringing a Kerry Blue to the box is like taking a donkey to the Meydan Racecourse and hope to win the 7 million price

I am as tall like tyson fury but I bet he I would look as silly as the kerry blue in the box
