The way I see it is the wider you have to open your mouth the less power to bite you have so with smaller k9 I believe you have a better chance of closing your mouth

I wasn't going to say anything as I figured most everyone else would chime in on it but a shorter muzzle and less wide opened mouth is not going to create more force than a long muzzle with a wider opened mouth. It's basic physics. Take a table top vice for example, which one closes that cold shut easier, a small vise or a larger one?.

I'll save you the thinking, the large one will because it covers more area and being larger creates more force when the handle is turned.

The cutters are just basically an anchor for the bite. Long or short teeth isn't going to affect force at all, it will only affect how deep the anchors go. The most powerful part of a dogs bite is going to be where the molars are. The back of the mouth.

if it's a throat or gut dog, i'd assume long teeth would be fine if back up by a hard mouth. but the shaking might break them.

The Vise analogy doesn't really Apply to what frankdublin said because we are not Talking about a constant force. The jaws of a dog are controlled by muscles that pull bone towards em and a fully extracted muscle is always the least powerful, eg biceps curls, sit ups and so on. That would mean that the wider you have to open your mouth to close IT, because of large teeth being in the way, the less force you would use at the closing moment. Is this relevante to the damage caused by the dog, who knows..

The long snout vs short snout debate works better for the vise analogy.

I like Big teeth myself, IT looks bad ass and i imagine IT does more damage. Some dogs with Big teeth tens to loose em but some seem to have these indestructable dentures in their mouths... None of My dogs got Big teeth, its not in their blood...

  10. You should see ch dodo cutters look like sabers long big n wide they ain't breaking they say when he lay in a hogs ass end they get hung on guts and he can close his mouth alllllll the way

  11. "As a matter of fact, most good dogs have small teeth. Here again they resemble the Bull-dog...it is that produces the swords some dogs carry in there mouths, useful,no doubt,if you get strength of jaw and gameness with it."
