  3. If you look closer, you will find Lonzo's bloodline in some of the best hunting dogs of past and recent times. The problem is people don't know any better. When they mention Lonzo's dogs, only one name comes to mind "Zebo".

Nobody mentions Brewers Vindicator full brother to Zebo Lonzo's Andy X Lonzo's Angie. He beat Ch. Finley's Bo when he quit in 1:52. And if you are wondering, Yes this is the same Finley's Bo that sire Jeep. Many of the more modern Lonzo dogs like Black Preacher, Bad Loki and Ch Buba comes down from that King Elvis inbreeding who is sire by Lancaster Snake who is sire by Vindicator X his full sister Rosie.

Another important dog off Lonzo's Andy X Lonzo's Fay is Greenwood Oakie. Oakie is the Sire of O. Stevens Ch Homer 4XW ROM who went against the famous Jeep for 3:48 and lost game. In case you don't know, Homer produce Gr Ch Virgil ROM, Ch Zero, Ch Suzy and many others. O. Stevens Wiley is breed down from the Homer bloodline on top and King Elvis/Zebo on the bottom. This was a champion dog with 2 BIS and 1 GIS.

Lonzo's dogs have made important contribution to the breed producing solid hunting dogs still performing today.

The most important thing is to make sure YOU are dealing with proven and respectable Dogmen. People who have their record straight and you can confirm with other dogmen that what they claim is true.

Papers don't go to hunt, Dogs do.

  11. Nice lookin dogs. Have you found they retain the the lonzo traits when crossed?

    Thank you.
Depends on what traits your referring too.

  13. From what I have gathered these dogs still bring alot of power, and intensity to the table. The trick seems to be trying to hold onto those traits while adding a bit of wind the line. Just curious what your experience has been with this.

Yes, most of the offspring kept those traits, but my stud has average wind so i havent had any issues with wind to date. Im very pleased at what ive seen off Onyx so far.

  15. Thanks for the info. good luck with them.

No disrespect to anyone who fancies the lonZo line of today's age... But it is no where near the calibre of dog it once was.. I'm sure a few of you may think you have a few decent bulldogs but you are only as good as your competition and in the left lane there is no room for heavy bred lonzo dogs. I know of a few very good dogs that carry some of blood but I personally don't think it can stand alone without being crossed..
If there is a lonzo dog worth mentioning please forgive my ignorance but speaking from experience these dogs are better off in the confirmation ring and to be honest they would not do well there either.. JMO
