Michael Vick To Speak Out Against Dog Fighting

Michael Vick is expected to speak out against an illegal blood sport he once participated in.

Vick is scheduled to speak to Overtown Youth Monday as part of the Humane Society's campaign to end dog fighting.

Vick, now the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, served an 18-month sentence in jail after pleading guilty to federal dog fighting charges because of his involvement in a dog fighting ring.

Now, he's on a mission to educate and warn youths against participating in dog fighting.

"I used poor judgment. I had people around me who didn't have my best interests at heart," he said at a Washington church in September.

When he played for the Falcons, Vick said, he would go home every week to fight dogs.

"For what reason, I don't know to this day," he said in September. "Something so pointless."

How big was Vick's name in the dog game? I remember hearing him say he wanted to continue matching to keep building his name in the game... I've never in my life heard anyone mention him as a match man. His new position on matching is such horse shit.

 

I think he has to do all of the public speaking. It was part of his condition when released.

Actually he was already convicted of those crimes so in reality, he can talk about it all he wants, they can't try him again for the same crimes he already served time for.....

Doubtfull, the people getting raided are people who are, lets say, godfathers of the game (or were at one time), are very well know, large scale breeders that you can't find too many pedigrees without their names in them. The game lines are the target and the best way to attack the breed is to start at the top and work your way down and thats exactly what they are doing, taking out the large players first like FB, WSK, BST PP and so on and so forth, once they are done hitting them it will trickle down to your smaller operations. I hardly doubt Vick had anything to do with any of those, the man didn't blame anyone in court he took the blame remember? Vick was the fall guy they wanted due to how famous he was or well is.....As far as I know, He did not get any reductions in his sentencing which would indicate he was ratting on other people, he took full blame and also full responsibility for what his operation was doing. The Law knows who the key players are in the game, they arn't stupid and people on sites like this and peds online give them everything they need to know to enbark on a investigation, everyone should maybe keep that in mind when your putting someones name and kennel out there on the internet:mad:

I agree totally on this one it seems like when this was over the heads started to role. What's even worse they gave dt like 30 years or so and vick had loads of dog bodies on his property. Just goes to show who did the snitchin....

Vick got less time because 1) He didn't have as many dogs and 2) He is looked at as a valuable tool by PETA and the HSUS.

These large scale doggers are getting large scale time because if they get convicted each dog and every dog will be counted as a count of animal cruelty, intent to fight dogs or intent to breed/sell fighting dogs.

You get a 40+ dog yard and time starts adding up.

Keep your yard clean, dogs fed, records up to date and your personal shit out of the streets. Learn from WSK mistake, someone comes onto your yard talking sideways about wanting a good match dog, don't entertain the offer. Tell them they can get the hell off your property.

vick is an idoit if you do the ( so called crime) do the time if he was a dog fighter he should atlese keep it real with his self meaning why try to tell on all the dog fighters he know because he got caught ? that's like saying i robbed a bank and when i get caught i bring them to my buddy's house and tell of the banks we robbed together, he sound's like a little b*TCh to me.:mad:
