All depends. Sanctioned or street fight? Level of experience, mental toughness of the individual, skill set, etc.

Sort of like garner titan or evo dogs who wins

I think a boxers best chance is on his feet. Once it gets to the ground it's probably over for the boxer more times than not unless they have a good ground game in their toolbox too..

I feel like your best fighters are those who practice several different styles. The boxer is more dangerous on his feet while the grappler is more dangerous on the ground. A good boxer isn't going to let you take them to the ground where as the grappler is wanting to take you to the ground. You saw a bigger gap in talent between fighters in the early days of MMA. Those with only one tool in the shed usually didn't go too far or last very long. It made the sport evolve fast.

Just an opinion. I can't validate none of that. Lol.

I think there's a slight window of opportunity in between the boxer/striker on his feet and the wrestler/grappler on the ground that sometimes gets overlooked.. I like to watch Greg Nelson's 'clinch work'..He almost developed it into a unique fighting style, but he's good for tips on stand up - clinch - ground styles.

Who remembers the fight between Don Fry and Yoshihiro Takayam.I like Don the Predator Frye talking about heavy hitters this one is it. a good professional wrestler and a good striker too. Whip your ass and have a beer with you afterwards.

A good boxer is more than likely to get wrecked by vale tudo/mma/catch wrestler. Using hands only is extremely limiting

I like it when they hook hands around each other head and punch one another in the face until the other one gave up.

MMA = MMA simple like that, you have to be skilled in standup and groundwork, plus all other things which comes in hand such as being the better harder and more conditioned athlete then the other.
It is an human dogfight, so gameness foremost.

Pride was fun, ofcourse, the strongest man of the village vs the guy on steroids from overseas.
Pure kickboxers vs wrestlers, boxers vs karateka's and so on, all in for a good old fashioned brawl.
It delivered some decent fighters who went to the other different organisations out there, such as the UFC or Bellator and others.
UFC is another level, nuch more proffesional although Dana White is an villian, he don't care for fighters at all but only care for his pocketbook IMO. Watch a really entertaining fighter, and over the hill nowadays which is a shame as he'd the potential to become an all time great Charles '' Felony '' Bennett, kind of cult hero in the sport.

UFC 1 showed us. Royce is not even top five in his family and he tapped out Pro boxer Art Jimmerson with top pressure, no submission necessary. Jimmerson was 29-5 at the time of the fight.

Boxer is gonna have the best hands over all martial arts solely based on the angles boxers cut and throw from.
Add in elbows, knees, kicks and now you have Dutch / American style kickboxing.
Any professional fighter who has a Muay Thai base but fights mma is gonna have a western boxer stance.
Overall best base to build from in my opinion is gonna be wrestling. Greco or freestyle as a mastered martial art are gonna have the advantage because they can dictate where the fight takes place.
Your world renown jits players are always gonna have the advantage when the fight hits the ground. Problem is jits isn't know for its takedowns so trying to get a wrestling on his back is a different set of problems.
Biggest difference between then and now is people learned different martial arts separately and then had to meld them together but now mma is taught directly as a martial art.
Kinda jack of all trades but master of none.
The parallels between mma and these dogs go on and on.
Fun fact....in jiu jitsu when practicing / grappling it's referred to as a roll.
I don't think the UFC has a monopoly on the best fighters especially when you look at the work of the fighters that fight for one fc.
They are based over seas so you can bet steroids are a must.

many of the boxing blocks and defenses become obsolete in the cage do to 4 oz gloves, Parrying and the defense of the head with gloves are almost undoable

Gotta disagree with you there. Slips, rolling, and parrying are paramount for defending.
Also other techniques that are designed for 4 oz defense.
People forget the pro boxing matches take place with 8 or 10 oz gloves.
Those aren't pillows and the gloves are very hard.

8 and 10 oz gloves are still helluva lot bigger than 4 oz. parrying in mma is much harder with smaller gloves, slipping leaves you open for a kick or takedown. boxing techniques have to be heavily modified to actually fit into mma

  20. You never trained if you think a boxer will survive inside the octagon. There’s too many weapons. They’ll get schooled

On the other hand I think an mma fighter could stand a better chance in the squared circle, but they will still probably get schooled. It’s just one art of unarmed combat. Plenty of amazing boxers in mma and mma fighters do a lot of that training but not many great mixed martial artists in boxing, most boxers are pure boxers. Which makes sense
