And I agree I have submitted black belts before and I’m a mediocre purple belt, That has nothing to do with Anderson being more of a kickboxer and not really that high level at Brazilian JiuJitsu. Look at his fights he’s not using his kickboxing to smother people take them to the ground and choke them, he’s beating the fuck out of them using his Muay Thai. He’s using his jujitsu defensively when being taken down and beaten up by wrestlers. Don’t get me wrong he’s a legitimate black belt but he’s not a world-class black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Damian Maia, Jacare, those are your high level bjj guys in the ufc.

Without weight cuts silva is easily 20 kg heavier than him, quite a bit stronger and quite a bit more athletic. Skill overcomes such large physical gap only if there is an equally big gap in skill between two fighters. This is no different than kimura manhandling the smaller helio.
