Yeah I been hunting about 4 years now. My neighbor got me into it. We only got a few edible around
here. "Stumpies" which only grow on dead/downed White oaks.(we got lots) and Chicken of the "woods"
We use them in soups and stews. My neighbor pickles em in white vinegar. I was hiking today and came cross
a baby rattler! ohh he was mean. I tried to Shoo him off the trail with my staff..and he struck at it again,
and again! Nasty lil critter. I didn't kill him cause that's just how I am.

Oh yes, love morels(butter, garlic and shallots) puff balls battered and fried hawks tails battered and fried that is some good eating, add some wild turkey or venison and it is about as good a meal as can be had. I have only found a handful of morels this year, my spots are just not producing this year, I am in central Ohio plenty of hunters here. Check Craig's List usually can find some for sale on there if the hunting is no good.

I found about 50 nice greys and yellows yesterday. Still a little early here I think hopefully next week the rain will help. I like to crush up saltines and ritz crackers as the for the batter. I like it a lot better than just plain ol flour. Btw nice find St@ffy!

My buddy actually found those, i was to busy fishing lol! We like venison with them also.

Promoe that gos for about any batter we make here lol. Sometimes we add a little spice depending on what we are frying but for the most part, ritz and saltines are part of it, i like to use a dash of instant potato too sometimes, not much but enough to add an extra crisp.

Heck 50 aint a bad day at all!!

We have seen a few spots kind of dry up around here also, seen some morons with a pillow cases at our last spot, i asked if them knew anything about shrooms, swore up and down they did but all i could think is why in the hell are you not using a bag with holes so the spores can fall out and repopulate!??!?!
