Mushroom hunting and growing

When I lived in Heaven (Northern California) I saw mushrooms growing everywhere. Quite a few of them were edible species: Chroogomphus vinicolor, Armillaria mellea, Suillus pungens (ugh), Helvella lacunosa. There seems to be a paucity of edible wild shrooms here in Hell. I have found a few, but most of the mushroom hunting I do down here is in stores and at farmers' markets. I bought some mycelial cultures off eBarf and am hoping to successfully grow them, including Morchella elata, Calvatia gigantea and Melanoleuca melaleuca. I am as obsessed with mycology as I am with botany.

Mycologist David Arora, author of the invaluable amateur mushroom hunter's tome Mushrooms Demystified, jokes about the USA-ians who think all "toadstools" are poisonous and whose idea of edible mushrooms only includes the Cultivated Mushroom, Agaricus bisporus. LOTS of other mushrooms are tastier. Mexicans and Canadians have no such qualms about hunting and eating wild shrooms. Same with rural Yankees.

Mushrooms are good. I hunt them in the spring and fall mainly. Good free gatherings.

What type of mushrooms are you hunting in the fall. I think were from the same area.

Even though I grow my own morels and others I still hit the woods.
Anyone can buy spores from many places.

You know, I feel like I'm being trolled. Nothing in my original post was plagiarized, and I don't do flame wars with people I've never heard of. Fortunately this site has an ignore function. Souldog, you go bye bye now.
