my last hunt was about two weeks or so . Have not been out due to pison oak :-( . But any ways took my dog Parumph out for a quick walk so i thought . left the house with dog and no gear just a spade and a leash like i thought quick walk! well we go to this creek by my ranch which has a lot off big rocks coming out of the side of the creek bed (slate or flagstone)well we walk about 10 minutes or so and he hits the scent of something and of he goes up the side of the creek bed into some rocks and all of a sudden i here the roar of a coon !! well the coon drops in to the rocks and Parumph is right on his tale!! well i start to make it up to were they are at on the side of creek bed in the rocks i can here Parumph working the coon hard just as i get there the coon bolts out of the rocks and up into a small tree in the rocks and this is one big ass coon!!!! he thouht he got a way but parumph was right up after him . They both go tumbleing out of the tree but the coon grabs some branchs and parumph goes down the creek bed . the coon goes back in the rocks and parumph right after him . Now the hard part like i said no tools just my hands and leash and spade . And to make a long story short i moved about 500lbs of rock slate to get to them all in all about 1hr 1/2 he was working . he was getting just as much as he was dishing out BIG COON . Well the coon was in the rock realy tight and i could not tail him as i could barely get to my dogs leg and decided to pull him out too bad he didnt have a hold of the coon . all in all it was good work on parumphs part and bad on mine for not having my tools and getting poison oak :-)
