Man How long ago was all this abuse? The dog look in good condition and don't look like it was ever burnt or ever cut by a knife

He is a beautiful dog. He looks like a Patterdale/Staffy Bull mix to me. His head is too broad and his body is too thick to be just a Patterdale. As least compared to the ones that I have been around.

lots of working terriers have bull blood in them at some point in their ancestry,
he looks like he's landed on his feet anyway ;)

I heard that breeders were putting in APBT blood in scarce amounts
But these days are committed to not using apbt any more this pup must be one of them

To be honest, I don't think he is a pure patterdale. He looks to be a staffordshire bull terrier. If he is a patterdale, he is definitely a patterdale that is mixed with amstaff, staffy, or apbt. I would say most likely apbt due to the head shape. Staffies tend to have a heavier head. Though I do see some patterdale in his head shape, especially the muzzle.

I agree entirely. The tail is also quite a bit longer than any Patterdale I've ever seen. Nothing wrong with that though and still a great looking terrier! Thanks for the rescue.

What are you talking about? That dog can most definitely work. you know a lot of people actually cross in bulldog blood (apbt, not actually ambulldogs etc.) to heighten their stocks prey and fight drives. A patterdale x apbt or patterdale x staffybull can most definitely work.

yeah but then they gotta reduce them and only after couple generations they have the ideal size. nuttal added bull ken gould added bull and wheeler. by the size was reduced. especially in USA, u guys need smaller dogs. unlike uk. just read what david mason

SMALL DOGS CAN GO ANYWHERE BIG DOGS ONLY WANT TOO..be SURE to ASK about chest size when you are talking to folks about Patterdale/fell types...LOTS of them have SO MUCH Pitt OR Staff blood now they could not go to ground if they wanted to.CHANCES ARE if they look like Pitts OR Staffs thats what they MIGHT be. If this TREND continues the Patterdale/fell type terrier as it was intended will be gone. I dont want to see this happen and PROMISE to resist the TREND to put STAFF & Pitt blood into my terriers. Yeah, ground dogs definitely can't be too big. However, that dog definitely doesn't look to be too big to be a ground dog. I've seen larger wheaten and jacks that were quite adept at the ground, nothing exceptional though but they got it done.
