how do i get him to use it?
ive tried playing with him and he will jump all over it with his ball, he's eager when he sees his harnes but when i strap him in he tries to reverse off it and forces himself out of his harness.

I would say just spend more time getting him used to it. Dont rush him. He has no idea what to expect. Maybe you can walk on it with him next to you so he understands it wont hurt him. Do that for a few days. Give lots of praise. Then have someone help you. While they harness him in you can distract him with the ball in front of the machine and urge him forward. Once he realizes its fun I'm sure he'll be fine.

Try walking the dog on, then off. He will see no danger. Then walk on and use it. May help to just get him used to it at first.

Ok..I see. You're gonna have to start over from the beginning just getting him used to it again.

Do you have a command word for him to go up on things? Maybe practice with other objects he isn't weirded out about and teach him ''Up'' and reward with high value treats/praise/whatever he responds well to, progressing to the treadmill. Just start ''marking'' the going up on things behaviour that he already does, with a word like ''Up''. For instance, if he's a house dog and he goes up on furniture, when you see him to it, just say ''Up'' as he's doing it everytime and reward him. He'll start connecting the word "Up'' with not only the action of going up on things, but with positive praise. You can do it on walks when you go up stairs, benches, if he goes up on his dog house, whatever, depending on what he's exposed to. Eventually it'll just become second nature for him to respond. It's good to start of mellow with things he's comfy with, like his bed, couch, etc.. and progress to more complicated things. Once he masters that, getting up on the treadmill will be no big deal as he'll be confident with going up on things. Then you can go from there. Getting him on it is the first step! lol
