Soze I would use a Patterdale on rabbits and rats and a pitdog on Hogs all the way.I know over there in England the laws are different about using dogs on Hogs But here in the u.s.a. that crap would not fly over here.

California Catchers has English bull terrier catch/gripping dogs. Very athletic old style bull terriers. Most of the old style bull terriers are around in Russia,China,India. There's a few though in the States and U.K.

Spoken to her owner a few times in the past. They use strange rules if the memory serves right.

  6. Its ridiculous over here mate,it really is.to be honest David I don't live in a rural area but I have been to the areas were these hogs are and spoke to the land owners about it(dog them)..every land owner iv spoke to wants nothing to do with it.quite simply because of the law.I have a shored these land owners that the way I want to do it is much better(more humane, more faster, more economic, well more of a guarantee)and they all agreed.but every one of them said it would be to noisy.....they all wanted to see it!!...but never had the bottle to allow it..(it is hot over here by the way,and I really can't blame them).if I had them on my own land.....I would do what said;)...

  7. Glad to here it!!..and its great the way you guys stick up for what's right..if we all stuck together like that over here it would be a lot better...but peoples opinions over here are quite crazy to say the least....there are many little arse lickers over here.and the funny thing is none of them have got a clue about wild animals,or any animals for that matter!.....yet whatever rubbish these arse lickers say seems to matter!!! It really is mental. If u come over here u be quite shocked...

  8. great e.b.t.s in photos right their. I know theres some in Russia and india.(france have exetlent ones to),but they could not compete in the same league as Evan a low ability apbt.not in a million years.(just my opinion)... By the way I have never seen one in the u k that looked as good them ones in the pictuers, they look awesome they really do...thanks for sharing!

  11. Would not surprise me if they had a bit of yank in there.to be honest, if you were going to improve e.b.t.s,or s.b.t. well...I think u would have to use yank..I truly believe it's the only way to improve them....and Evan if you did improve them well.....they would only be second rate to a bulldog!I'm sorry to say that,I really am,as I don't want to offend any of the people who are trying to work with these breeds,as they deserve support.as it must not be an easy task!I think it would be costly and take a long time....(mabee 20 years to get above average one.lol)..

Horses for courses if your working the fields then the bull terriers are abit lower on dog aggression.so are more popular for that work. But as for sbt I tend to look at them as the same breed as yank terriers seeing how good examples of both are essentially the same dog for the same job. Honest breeders are the hardest to find with them. A few runs at an a frame and they tell you it's a working Stafford...

  13. to be honest with u (an this is just my opinion)..I don't think the yank and the staff are the same.most doggy books seem to state that they were the same till the staff became registered and they started to change because of this.this has some truth.but doesn't it seem more likely that they added different blood to the staff to make it more suitable for the show ring?what blood?...perhaps some show bulldog?...by the way whippet x pit dogs were popular in the Midlands(for rabbit coursing)around that time..just my opinion... Love to here all your!!!!

  14. Yes to find honest men is not easy.and if you no any you should respect them and be very greatfull! Listen to what they tell you as you can only learn good things from them.in this part of the world the real dog men are like gold!!!!!and what they say should be listened to,and taken seriously.....and yes horses for courses.... Dogs for jobs..

Probably crossed with pug blood imo.to get the size down but what I was getting at is the sbt is supposed to be a game dog. So is the apbt. If both are bred for purpose then you get a very similar dog with no more variation than you get within working bred bloodlines so it makes sense to me to utilise one gene pool to improve the other. The kennel clubs of the world want nothing to do with working dogs they've made that clear for the past hundred years or so. But I'm rambling now lol.

  16. Ha! R u the first person to agree with me on this show bulldog theory? I think u r!! ( some early pictures of staffs seem to show a trace of show bulldog)I believe what I said about the whippet blood too...and yes it do make sense to improve the staff with a.p.b.t. it would just take a long time, and then u would just end up with a under rated a.p.b.t....i no there both considered as"game"dogs but on a serious note.....BULLDOGS! ALL THE WAY!!!and yes kennel clubs world wide seem not to care about working dogs....

you're not rambling.like hearing more of your thoughts on the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. it's hard here in the states finding good working s.b.t.

you don't think a s.b.t can compete with a pitbull in the same weight class. Just curious what do you think.
