Danger has known B. Fritz for almost twenty years, Fritz at one time was the head of NASA's nutritional program. People don't have a clue when it comes to canine nutrition. Mayfield was so cutting edge but with his day technology that a lot carries weight today. Danger has impacted today's greyhound racing with GVT training!

That's just it, sarcasm and such on 85-90% of your posts. Smart kid actin dumb for what ever reason, that's the hallmark of a class clown. Hiding behind sarcasm and "jokes" to get your point across. That may be our real life personality, but it's still the same. One shouldn't have to sift through bullshit to get nuggets. See how I did that?? I have noooo problem with you or your posts btw. Just an observation

Kid??? I wish I was a kid or am I? You tell me? LMAO.....smart acting dumb? Using sarcasm does not make one dumb nor does it make one this so called class clown either regardless if one uses sarcasm in most of ones post.....I am not hiding behind sarcasm to get my point across as that is my whole point of being sarcastic.LMAO...That maybe my real life personality or it may be my alter egos which one it is the world will never know. LMAO.......One shouldnt feel they are entitled to nuggets without having to do any work and sift through bullshit. Is that how its done? LMAO....For someone with no problem with me or my post that was a very long and interesting observation. LOL

My main carb sources are fruits and vegetables. Grapefruit helps burn fat, watermelon is good for muscle soreness relief and dark green vegetables are usually high in iron, zinc and magnesium which moves blood. Complex carbs such as potatoes should only be fed in the after workout meal to spike insulin.

Chicken breasts is an excellent protein source and a natural useable source. I personally would never feed any raw meat because of bacteria which will set you back with a sick or worse a dead dog. I cook all of meat sources and only use the saturated fats from the meat if I have a dog with a high metabolism or if under weight during the keep. Saturated fats are very calorie dense so I stay away from using them as an energy source.

My fat sources are unsaturated fats because I need better digested fats and not as calorie dense fat sources. Extra virgin olive oil or flaxseed oil works very well and both are unsaturated fats. Sweet potatoes, yams or regular potatoes are a carb source not a fat source.

The supplements you listed are very outdated when you feed a certain way and unnecessary. Hydrolyzed whey protein isolate and creatine will give you a much better bang for your buck and better supplements.

Ah so instead of trying to fix the problem and or be doing something more constructive at "WORK", you decided to be bored and make a reply that really didnt need replying too? Got it. LMAO

Back on the topic.....I am a Juicer and I am NOT talking about steroids LOL but ACTUAL JUICE!!!!!.....I have the JackLaLane juicer and I give the pulp to the dogs as it still has a lot of nutrients as well as fiber but with less sugars then the actual juice itself as too much sugar is not good for dogs.

JUICE, WTF is juice , give me some of that purple stuff, grape drink baby. LMAO

Julian Michaels can increase the incline by 40% on a Norditrac commercial and a human can burn 5x more fat, imagine a canine that has twice the ATP capacity of a human. Why people waste their time and money on slat mills for dogs is mind boggling! You show me a side pic of a dog in keep and I can tell if they used a slat mill or carpet mill.

My main source is chicken, mostly leg quarters and backs. I do use red meat some and it is usually cow cheek. I use collard/turnip and/or mustard greens. I feed some brown rice as well, cooked twice.

I juice as well. The pulp is for the dogs and the juice is for me.

Most of the meat is raw. Once a week or so I will boil some of the chicken to make a broth for the rest of the week. I feed those backs as well but everything else is raw.

I use eggs a couple times per week. If it is a broth making day they are soft boiled the other day is uncooked.

Depending on the dog if I feed once or twice per day. If it is a plodder that is easy to maintain weight it is once per day. If it is a wide open all the time dog that weight drops I feed twice. One is a supplement laced, half meal after work. The other is a fattier half meal some 8-10 hours later.

I would like to work dogs same time every day but I work rotating shifts. Most of my work is in the morning but occasionally it is a work in the evening. I adjust feeding a day or so out to account for the schedule change.

GVT is old school for most and it is a proven technique. It can add lean mass as long as protein is increased to match. Mostly it is boring and the average every day weightlifter will give up on it before the end effects are seen.

I have lifted some but not a ton. My roommate and his friends were freaks in the mid 90's. Two of them benching in the 650lb. range. A bit shy of Ted Arcidi for the day but one did hit the 690 mark when the record was still around 705. Our house was the mecca for our area. So much so I had to check the return address on anything that came to the house and made sure I did not sign for anything.

It was never my cup of tea but I did learn a lot. They came away from GVT as far as 10 for 10 is concerned. They dropped back and to 5 for 10's and adjusted the weight. In turn they added more exercises for that muscle group. Mostly for range of motion and joint angles. The two guys that lifted over 650 were all about mass and strength and did not have full time jobs. The others in the group worked 45-50 a week so their time was a bit more limited.

Some of the principles can translate to dogs. I use some of the same ideas on the carpet mill. The problem with dogs is that the system can work for them at a much higher rate than people. The increase in muscle mass requires more blood flow to those parts of the body. In turn feeding them to be stronger-longer. GVT can be great for the dogs if it is dialed back a tad. The strength building exercises like pulling or even a solid carpet mill needs to be followed by some range of motion exercises like all out sprints or even flirting.

Most dogs can't be knocked out with one swing, or even two. One has to then have gas enough in the tank to be swinging late in the night. Stronger is great but stronger-longer is much more desired.
