My dogs are outside dogs and the chain spots are pretty dry right about now since it hasn't rained in a while and I'm noticing some of them have like a dirt line right where the nose meets the muzzle and it's real hard and scab like. Why can I do to fix this or is it even worth bothering???

Well, it takes the dirt off but there's still like this scabby hard line of skin almost like a scab or calus. I tried putting some jojoba oil on it today, but I never noticed it much before. Looks like it's chapped maybe from a combo of dirt and licking.

It goes away once the area becomes moist but to be honest, I wouldn't bother with it, especially since it is dry around your area. Once it goes away, it'll come back again, unless if it becomes moist again. It is also pretty common too during the winter time. If you're not into showing your dogs, such as conformation etc., just let it be.

    A & D ointment would be better.

Vermont's Original bag balm in the green tin is the best shit since sliced bread.

The reason i say vaseline is because its basically odorless (cause your putting right under there nose),and is still pretty effective.

sprinklers, kiddy pools, or cattle waters or half blue barrels, just someting where they can dip there head in. or sprinkle moisture out on them, it is normal, but not scabby (nose pastys/dirt ring) if well moistured like any skin, we do see it here, but probably not as bad as down in southern states, you folks got it crazy hot down there!:D
