While Hell's Jock's owned Tanya, she was bred to both Champion Bash and Boss (Charlie's litter brother) most of the Boss x Tanya litter got sent down south and pretty certain the Reid x Patrick female that lost deep game v's Sprayman's Sue was bred down from that litter.

I think the problem - and it is a problem - most UK history on Reid dogs is restricted to the dogs bred down from Scotsman's Max and Curstopper, kind of embarrassed to admit that's really the only dogs I know about, but what about other Reid dogs that were bred down from CH.Billy, CH.Rex, CH.Dread, CH.Buck, CH.Sheena Black and others I can't recall right now? What about the Reid crosses coming through East End Kennels dogs and GR.CH.Shelley? What about that proven producer Jone's Scrapper? Mention a Reid dog and usually most people think of Champion Curstopper, but just because there was good Reid blood in the north don't mean we can ignore the other blood that was winning down south.. Below photo is Gunning's Dutchess 2xw nursing her litter sired by Scotsman's Max.

Must admit oldguy ive always had a thing for them max and billy dogs .... especially curstopper been down from hagar and max

 

My old bitch was a daughter of bohemigs boy aka barney ...his breeding was unkown for years but he was a good dog losing deadgame to ch bludd in a long one .. i recently got told he was bred out of ch billy or a son of his ... apart of me kind of hoped this was true

I see dogs today look like they out of a Skipper x Beauty breeding just last week.. That's how strong that blood is.. Fuck knows how them dogs are bred? 5/8 Spaniel x 3/8 Stafford/Pitbull cross for all I know, but it's like looking at CH.Billy walking down the street! Anyone being offered Reid blood these days should do their homework first..

Can’t get the hang of this posting stuff , tried to reply to your post dusty, beaut was bred to Popeye think I mixed offspring up was along time ago, and spur was also bred to Popeye and ch billy broken tail .

I always say pit bulls are the real old baiting dogs turned pit dogs.and they are,most definitely in pheno-type...but maybe they were like Skipper dogs?in that way I mean they through there stamp into there offspring no matter what they were bread to?..
And maybe they were running out of stock,so took a chance and bread them to other breeds(like terriers,exc,)knowing full well most of the offspring would come out more baiting dog in pheno-type?....

I think it's an interesting point you made.. Take the first Max x Tanya litter for example.. The dogs I know of that made it to the [ ] was Huck, Tosh and Buster.. In the second Max x Tanya litter, the dogs I know made to the [ ] was Yogi, Hagar and Archie, so out of two Max x Tanya litters there was 6 dogs made the [ ] with others going to pet homes through no fault of their own.

Tanya was bred twice while owned by Hell's Jock's Kennels, once to Champion Bash and once to a litter brother of Redeye's Charlie 2xw called Boss.. Dogs I know that made it to the [ ] from the Bash x Tanya litter are Sheera, Big Freddie, Nathan, Rustler's Scallie and a dog they called 'Back end Bob'.. As stated earlier, majority of the Boss x Tanya litter got sent south, peddled for money and never heard of again.. This means we can account for the Bash x Tanya litter only which produced 5 dogs that made the [ ] so even though Tanya produced 4 litters we know of (2 bred by Scotsman and 2 by Hell's Jocks) there's only 3 litters (to my knowledge) we can account for and they produced 11 dogs that made it to the [ ]

Apart from getting bred to Tanya, Scotsman's Max was also bred to Rustler's Scratch, Gunning's Dutchess, Billy Murray's Sheera, Reid's Sugar and a litter sister to GR.CH.Bill that I know of, there was others, but I can't remember them all .. Out of the Max x Sheera breeding we got Clever Charlie and Boss that made it to the [ ].. Can anyone else offer info on dogs produced by Scotsman's Max 'OUTSIDE' of being bred to Tanya because I get the feeling Tanya was a better producer than she ever got credit for.

 

So max did get bred to reids sugar oldguy ... scorch was supposedly off that breeding but the scotsman told a fella i know ( when i was looking into scorch’s breeding years ago ) that max was never bred to any sugar ? Unless he didn’t know of all of the breedings that went on later mate ? I agree though that tanya must have been summat special
