Pure bred

This is just an observation why driving and working in London and the the south east,
That the staffs I see are more coated and have thick tails unlike the dogs I kept whip like tails and that really short coat?

 

Genetic diversity?

My reason for asking the question is this,
I went to look at a horse to buy, a fella was there with with a blue and white dog nice strong head and not a bad shape but he had like a Labrador coat and tail when I asked if he was pure bred he said he was bred from good line of Irish dogs? Have since noticed a few coated dogs with the thicker tail.

 

One of my pups has a slightly bushey tail . The dublin reds threw the odd one with a bushey tail as my old dog had a slight one

 

I'm in no way crabbing the dogs, just asking the question I to had a Dublin bred bitch out of big red x red rose I also see it in a very well bred apbt and when see its siblings you would never believe it.

 

Man I was just about to start a thread asking where has the rat tail dogs gone to ,and why in the world am I seeing thicker damn tails. Everything in sink but the bushy tails. I like the rat tails better. My mentor insisted on rat tails as well. Could this be due to the genetic make up over all of the APBT .Dont get me wrong I know they didn't breed for rat tails but was it once a standard. The bush makes me second guess at time. I had a chance to buy a Maverick bred pup, saw his tail and got spooked. I saw dogs with them that turned out ok, just wondered.

 

I've had dogs back as far as the game lad and all have the whip tails,lots of the red nose dogs I'm seeing to have it,long gone are the days of heathers Zak for looks.

No matter what breed a dog is ,something never change.
There may be something else in it or could be a representative of a certain family trait.
I haven't met a one person that can just look @ a dog walking down the dtreet not know who it belongs to or where it's from & tell you everything that in it or how exactly it's bred for 7 generation.
Who really honestly knows. JMO.

it's the terrier blood. normally they have the bulldog tail, but you'd get some throwbacks.
