There should be ZERO bushy tails,,,,a good staffy has a nice head, strong build but his legs taper down into athletic terrier legs.So I'm racking my mind as to where this outcross came from. You'd have to be an idiot to use a LAB or a PUG.Irish staffs have bullterrier and pit in them but that's not where the bushy tail comes from. I"M thinking some knuckle dragger wanted a bigger thicker staffy and crossed in OLDE ENLISH BULLDOGGE or even an AB and just bred them down to staffy size hense the slower, thicker build and bushy tailed staffy. That's my 2 cents just a thought what's your thoughts on how some staffy'd changed?

I think whippet or greyhound has been bred into them to get the estate hard man staffs.

Lol i guess it is British humour but I'll try and explain it. In every estate in the uk you'll see a tattooed youth with his staff standing by the corner shop the trend it seems is gone from who has the biggest staff to who's looks more like a pitbull if it's blue then that's a bonus.

A lot of them so called 'Irish' blue Staffords have whippet blood in them for sure...stands out a mile...but dont see how that would make their coats thicker

Had kc staffs with rat tails and thicker tails, had staffs from irish trial lines with both types of tail, had irish trial line stafffs with semi curled tails, means nothing, just something to hide the arsehole under.

Does the thick tail come down to body mass if the dog is over weight would the tail gain fat and if the same dog was got fit would the tail be slimmer? Or is it down to the make up of the dog.

Working whippets are real nice dogs.hmmmmm not sure I see whippet in irish staff's could be though I see a lot of bullterrier. If so I'm thinking a good working whippet crossed with a good working staffy would be an interesting animal on varmits.THE BLUE,,,,,how about it comes from AM STAFFS or AM bullies? These days there must be a could DNA test to figure it out.
