If you hunt pigs then you won't the most crazy ass dog you can have so my advice is to inbreed and get a crazy dog out of it

I used to slack on the vest because i seen a few good dogs lost because of the vest.My uncle never used a cut vest and someone finally talked him into it,about three hogs later one got his snout up under the bottom side of the vest and killed his dog because his dog couldn't get away.Another time friend and i went with his two dogs,we turned them lose and only one came back.We went back looking for his dog though out the week and never found him, about two months months later we were hunting the same area and found his dog dead, the vest got tangled in a barb wire fence and sadly he starved to death. And of course it hinders the dogs movement. But more times than not a vest will do much more good than harm.

Hog hunting has nothing to do with crazy dogs, and neither does inbreeding .

Yeah no doubt things like that would play on your mind in a big way but now days with the tracking collar that dog wouldn't perish on the fence and you get to quick enough for them not to over heat things like getting hooked under the vest will always happen though not much can be done about that..
I got heaps of video footage of my dogs working if this rain keeps up i might make a few videos for you tube show you the boys in action...

Yes I'm serious, please dont mistake me as someone talking down to you.

I was speaking in direct reference to your clip... I watched the shit out of steve irwins old shows so I'm very overly aware of the environment out there.

I'll be the first one to tell you that you are out there doing better than and out catching me.... BECAUSE YOU ARE.

In reference to that one specific clip though... out here in Honey Island or on the Pearl River he would have been dead. Thorns and briars taking up the area of a football fields, or swamp mud and marsh that will lose you up to your chest at times. Canals and low lying marsh, all of which is well below sea level. You cant just drive a mule or gator buggy into it like the open brush you have out there. I cant think of an area of land out here that isnt as thick as the 747 blood suckers that fly in the air there.

In reference to you comment about our way below "sub-par american hog hunting shows" you are more than right... They are far from the 'representaion of our "pros' your shot at them being the best the states have to offer was deff. a shot in the dark. Those folks are absolute jokes and are running themselves and their shit eaters into the ground. I remember when they ran an ad. for the casting call for most of those shows on baydogs.com I wanted no part of that.

I'm working on bull terrier and other such catch type crosses myself... How has the mouth held up in your program when you've crossed out to 4 a way animal? Seems like that bird dog in the Arab might water it down? Its just an assumption though.

I have heard different theories on mouth for catch dogs.Ill let pigmad answer that question first,,But I would like to hear some different opinions on it.

Lucky you!

Its illegal to sell your catch out here... That goes for any wild game harvested. I'm sure there is an uncommon way to go commercial though.

CajunCountryK9 Big Dog

Well Its just that I've known of Bird dogs to be bred for a softer mouth to not damage the game they harvest. I'm sure this could be picked up in a cross program.... as I'm sure you know genetics are a powerful thing.

16. bamaman

bamaman GRCH Dog

Yep i do understand that,,I was waiting to see if pigmad was going to answer you..But hell it dont matter..I have heard some people say they dont want a real hard mouth dog because harder he bites more it pisses the pig off and makes him fight even harder,And i have heard others say they like the hard mouth dogs better cause they get a better hold...So thats the opinions i was looking for..From what i know hard mouth means biting through flesh and bones like biting through a potatoe from what the oldtimers said..So if thats the case a softer mouth shouldnt effect the dogs ability to keep hold. Before the Eli blood it was common knowledge that most APBT's were soft to average mouth, but never heard it effected thier ability to keep holds. But just looking for more opinions, thier like assholes everybody got one lol.

Fuck just pressed the wrong button gotta start again hahahaha...
If you watched the croc hunter you would have seen him catch a pig in nut deep mud on river bank??
This time of year your can't go off road anywhere wich is why i am back on here mud is a joke bog atv all day but true it not all year round and that clip is end of the dry season october so doesn't get any dryer or hotter that day was well over 40 degrees celcius true dog killing weather peels their pads right off..
I never bred the white dog but he is good never seen him take a backward step and can scent pigs off the ute from good distances 2.5km is his best i have measured with gps have had 3 bitch of the same breeding to try get a decent breeding pair and yes they were to soft for me but there is plenty here catching good pigs..
I have been breeding my own pit x bloodhound pup's was going 50/50 but now leaning more towards 75/50 pits favour so they start work a bit earlier.. This is bout as bad as it gets were i am crocodile.jpg unless you run into 1 of these

You leave that arab on the pig long enough he will kill it he is a nasty dog fight like a cunt to probably would quit but knows how to throw his weight around he is 40kg dog..
Any dog can hold a pig alot of non acredited hunters are happy with a dog that will hold till it last breath i need the dog to get off on voice comand so i can tie the pig up i hunt by myself or with the missus but as you see in this pic they not always there when you need em hahahahaha

Pigmad red mud here is so bad and sticky the further you walk ,the taller you get and thats from the inches just sticking on the bottom of your shoes,if you dont have your boots laced real good it will take the boots right of your feet.
